Seriously, thats one of the main reasons I switched to the ecodiesel. In my 15' gmc I was getting 6-8mpg on flat ground when towing my boat, now im getting 14 with the ecodiesel. Having to stop every 2.5 hours to get gas was a major PITA
If you have the hemi motor, maybe around 1-3 mpg with 10 ply tires and depending on how you drive.
edit: and for towability youre not really going to lose anything since you have the 3.92 gears
I've used airlift on this truck and my last truck and I like them. Also my friend's 2001 chevy is still using the airlift bags from back then. WDH is completely different than air bags but I don't think your trailer is heavy enough to warrant it.
Air bags will help level the back end, but its...
wow, just came across this thread, didn't realize so many people had this issue, mine does the same thing on cold mornings, the motor in the seat back is like grinding or something. Doesn't do it when the car gets warm inside though.
From what I've seen just stay away from uniballs, I've seen this happen before on a job site, owner of a company pulled up in his new truck and when he turned the uniball popped out and did this same thing. All I have on any of my lifts are ball joints and I've done plenty of offroading and...
There's a ground stud on the back wall behind the rear passenger side seat that I used. Its also used for the e-torque battery if equipped. Bad ground can cause issues but I wouldn't think it could blow a sub.
Modern high quality RCA and power/ground cables can be run right next to each other...
20' longhorn here, I use it every time I driveand I really like it and would buy it again, its really nice considering I drive 500+ miles/week. It just takes a bit of the load off.
However, it has its limitations. Its a pretty basic system so you still need to pay attention, if the freeway is...
hahahaha, one of the perks of being short. I'm 5'7 and my wife is 5'4 and can fully stretch out our legs adn not even touch. Plane rides aren't bad either, I feel bad for 6'+ people on planes, looks very uncomfortable.
Dang, if you plan on towing that thing a couple times a week you should really consider getting a 2500, they have bigger axles, bigger bearings, bigger transmission..... you get the point, everything is built tougher.
But if you going with the 1500 get an extended powertrain warranty lol...
36k miles, 35" tires, 4x4 and 3.92 gears. I get 21-25 average, its possible to hit the 29+ with stock tires if you are on a long flat highway going 65, but with heavy city I usually get 21, never even been able to get the truck below 20 and I'm not an easy driver.
trailing my 22' boat/6500...
that's correct, the mopar lift is only 1" taller than ORP. might be interested in one of the 3.5" lift kits which are about 1" taller than the mopar lift. Or you can do a full drop bracket lift.
Specs wise you should be fine, I'm assuming you have a 9-10k towing capacity around 1400+ payload. These longer camper trailers always seem to make 1500s tug-n-pull a bit, especially if its windy. Also I recommend getting 10 ply tires. Makes a big difference towing. The stock 6 play passenger...
Didn't even know they still made the single cab besides for commercial fleet vehicles. But the anti slip is probably a LSD(limited slip differential) and that is what you want. the LSD is what keeps both wheels turning when one loses traction.
An open differential is where the wheel with the...
Doesn't completely get rid of rake. I have about 1/2" -3/4" of rake, noticeable but it still looks good, not nearly as much rake as stock though.
Install is pretty easy if you know how to replace strut coils & add a spacer in the back. Took me maybe 4 hours.
might want to add the ORP front springs along with the mopar 2", thats what I did and my 35s fit good, the only thing I has to trim were my aftermarket mudflaps.
Finally got around to getting 35s for the truck, rainy season and jobsites were getting slippery with the stock tires so this gave me an excuse to get them haha. Have aftermarket mudflaps so I had to trim them a little bit, but other than that, no rubbing at all. love the look of the truck now...
I'm pretty sure the mopar kit doesn't work with the air ride, and all the lift kits I see are 5"-6" kits. Just leave the truck in the tallest setting and it shouldn't rub. Or depending on how bad the rubbing is, break out the grinder and sawzall and start cutting away where it rubs.
adding a nice 10 or 12" sub
tint
some type of bed cover
spray in bed liner
hellwig sway bar
I drive a lot and I enjoy loud music so the additional 12" sub was a must for me. Going with that I already blew the center and left dash speakers on my HK system, so I have the Faital Pro and CDT...
Southern California, never seen floor mats do this before and we have 6 work trucks all with factory floor mats. You can pull at the floor mats and pieces will just break off.
