I decided to take the plunge on these... took advantage of the 20% off Black Friday deal, ordered them from Jeremy at Retroshop and he shipped them same day. They arrived Friday and I got them installed yesterday. Pretty straight forward install. My truck came with LED headlights so there...
What I initially thought was a leak just because of the sunroof drain grommet being installed incorrectly turned out to be a combination of that, the third brake light, and this crack that I found today while doing some more leak testing. You can see where I dropped some Permatex flowable...
I have a GatorTrax too and like it - it was pretty easy to install, and it works well. Like was said above, it flutters a bit at highway speeds but nothing wild. My dad has a GatorTrax MX on his 3500 and it's really nice (the aluminum one). I think if I were to do it again I'd drop the extra...
Whatever headlights, grille, and the plastic pieces that go underneath the headlights would run, plus painting stuff since the grille surround on the longhorn/limited don't come in Ivory Tri-Coat (just black or chrome as far as I know). Ideally I'd get all of the pieces from the black...
I'm at about $6,250. Been kicking around the idea of getting the Morimoto XB headlights, but am weary based on reviews. Really would like to do a longhorn/limited headlight/grille swap and paint the grille to match (since I've got the sport appearance package), but not sure if I want to dump...
This is exactly how I discovered I had a leak. If you have a sunroof, check your drains out the back of the cab - seems to be the main culprit. Did the truck get rained on recently, or go through a car wash?
When we lived in Florida, my truck was garaged pretty much all the time. We just...
Take a look at the Yokohama Geolandar X-AT. Nice hybrid tire - it's quiet, and even though it's 10 ply and the ride is stiffer than the stock P rated tires, I wouldn't call the ride "harsh". They have two different sidewalls you can pick from depending on which way you mount them.
I can do that tonight and will edit this post with the results. Before I put the new tires on it was 39.5” from ground to bottom of fender for both F&R. I’ll measure top of tire to bottom of fender for you.
EDIT: top of tire to bottom of fender is 8.5" front and rear
No real “good“ reason other than they were cheap ($130 for the pair) and took maybe 5-10 more minutes of work on each side to swap out after I had the struts out. I have the ORG and set the 5100’s to ring #5 so I think that is 3.1” higher in the front than a stock non-ORG truck. I consider...
Just installed my 5100's today, did the front and rears and went ahead and did the Mopar 2" lift kit UCA's for piece of mind (and for the price, why not). Went with setting #5 on the struts and the truck is dead nuts level (I have the ORP). Front end sits about as high as my dad's '16 3500...
I have the 60" blade and like it. It's not overly difficult to install, just takes some nylon spacers that you can get from HD for a couple bucks. I also got a CURT 5 pin harness adapter so it was essentially plug and play - just had to use a bullet connector for the reverse light wire.
I don't use MDS (always use the gear +/- buttons to set max gear to 8 as soon as I put it in drive), so the MDS drone wasn't/isn't a worry for me. Just on the short drive home from the shop yesterday, it was nearly stock quiet cruising at 45-50 mph in 8th gear even with the windows down. Have...
Finally got my exhaust done. Replaced the factory muffler with a Borla 40353 and removed the rear resonators. Sounds great! I'll post a cold start vid tomorrow.
Yes, they function just like the OEM cargo lights do. They turn on and off with both the switch in the bed and the switch in the cab.
I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KXR799K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It comes with two 60" strips in each package, and I...
For the running board lighting - since the wires for the LED strip are outside of the truck, it was easier to just ground it right at one of the existing grounds under the hood instead of having to extend it and run it into the cab through the firewall just to splice into a ground in the loom in...
This is what I did - if you have the OEM bed lighting, then you can just remove your tail lights and tap into the OEM bed lights on each side. If you don't have the OEM bed lights, you'll need to tap into the cargo light and run that to the bed. The OEM bed light wiring was super simple -...
