2019 Laramie factory order, built in October 2018, delivered in December 2018. Just crossed 20k miles a couple weeks ago. Only issues to date:
- Leaky back window that I fixed myself w/ a better third brake light seal and some silicone around the window frame.
- Front axle disconnect...
Don't forget these trucks have the active grill shutters... for fuel economy purposes, the grill shutters stay closed during warm up to get the engine up to temp as quickly as possible. Before I had removed them, my truck was typically up to operating temp by the time I drove the mile or so to...
Farthest I've gone is 566.9 miles and put 30.49 gallons back in it. This was before I was leveled and running the 305/55/20's.
EDIT: wanted to add this was from Greenville, SC back down to Bradenton, FL - so hilly sections to start but mainly flat once you get south of Macon on 75.
No, I had to custom make it using their "cable creator". You need fakra jack to fakra jack connector, one end needs to be black ("A" keyed connector) and one end needs to be white ("B" keyed connector). The below is a screenshot from their website. Click "The Cable Creator" near the top...
You are correct you need a 10' fakra cable. I bought mine with the A/B keyed connectors from Pasternak, others have bought cheaper ones with universal keyed connectors from Amazon and had success - just depends on how much $ you want to spend. I paid about $40 for the cable I bought.
You are...
Third brake light: 68444540AB
Digital mirror: 68448641AB (I am selling mirror+cable currently, thread in the buy/sell/trade forum)
Cable: you can get a cheap one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P2VBYWZ/ref=twister_B08BCSQCK1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1, or you can get a higher quality one...
Well... darn. Not too big of a deal really - would have been nice if it worked but I mainly just wanted the 3rd brake light anyway for how it looks.
I’ll probably end up selling the mirror.
I just played around with both ends of the cable for about a half hour with no change too. I also de-pinned the CBC pin on the XY340A connector on the passenger side behind the side dash cover so that theoretically all the mirror was getting was power, ground, and the camera and nothing...
I ordered my cable from Pasternack with an A connector on one end and B on the other. They were snug with no play.
I’ll try messing with the cable at both ends today to see what happens though just for S&G’s.
Does your mirror-side harness have all of the extra wires too? I guess it doesn’t really matter since the truck-side just has the three wires, but just curious.
So in the upper right of the schematic - there is a digital rear view camera module. That isn’t some separate module is it? Or is that just the actual camera itself in the CHMSL?
Well, my mirror came in last week and I finally had some time to install it today. Unfortunately, I'm getting the same "error" as @Daverous. The harness on the mirror has way more wires than my stock auto-dim mirror had, and I'm assuming there is some additional wiring that has to happen to...
I never had any issues with “fob not detected” or TPMS with my stock CHMSL with LED cargo and brake light installed, and I haven’t had any issues with the 2021 version either. I’ve put probably 200 miles or so on the truck since I’ve installed it.
I noticed in Daverous’ post with his vehicle config that there is a line that says “full central vision processing present” is set to no. Assuming this doesn’t matter because the cable that connects the camera to the mirror doesn’t run through the CVPM and that would theoretically only be set...
