a couple questions to consider
Are you towing with regularity at all? 3.92
If you bought either gearing, is that the setup you'll go with? likely 3.21 would still be better, but if you think about it, bigger tires = harder to get moving. That's where 3.92 would do better, but once you're at...
I don't have these but am looking at them for when I need tires - the block design looks more functional (is this just two sides of the same tire? I'm not familiar)
Valid reasons no doubt lol, I use soft shackles + basically non-fling components + line weights to be safe. and in the off chance it needs to be a front pull, 4Lo as well. This is all in my trail rig, not my Rebel, so hearing about stripping teeth and R gears being physically weak, that's good...
I've never heard this before - is this due to reverse gear ratio?
I'm always trying to learn more about recovery methods; I was on an overgrown fire road in my trail rig, no option to turn around and had to tug a truck back out of the brush the got stuck in. Other than gearing and the risk of...
Magnetic USB cables + iOttie OneTouch
I use AAuto and wireless charging is really not all that great - hardwire all the way.
There's a giant thread somewhere on how phones are being mounted, take a look at that to get some quick mount/dismount ideas
In my case yes, I use the app aCar to track the mileage on all my vehicles because it also has maintenance reminders, but it's well known that perceived mileage on the dash isn't always close to real numbers.
In fact I would wonder if hand calculated mileage on your Escalade is even correct...
Well the poll is tied!
The best of both worlds to really see it might be to plastidip spray it; wax it a few days in advance and buff well - it'll peel easy, but for ~$8 you can see for yourself if you like the matte black look for a few weeks
No, but probably because I didn't buy my truck for mpg.
That said, I got in the 17s when driving from CA to AZ and back in over 113* heat and with little regard for the skinny pedal.. enjoyed the drive and still decent mileage.
FWIW before I did that trip I did a cost per mile calculation of...
Really appreciate all your shared insight and experience - I'm living vicariously through your adventures but hope to do something like these trails!
on a note of your skidplate, it got me thinking the same with my Rebel - so here's a quick photochop to mull over the idea
Here's a pic I took last year when I installed the D6's (still awaiting my rebate actually, good reminder, def filed the paperwork) - you can see I got it high and tight where even the front wheel mini-flap/spat is even a tad lower than the bottom of the D6
I specifically got these because they...
I don't recall if this was a crate engine, but pretty sure this was @DieselDak on this board

many threads on this - I have an eTorque as well and I know exactly what you mean; I did a battery pull and had the dealer update the transmission firmware also and it's MUCH better, but still exists... over time I've become accustomed to managing the delay, but many folks look at getting a...
Interesting - I've never heard of a product like this before, but I've seen members prep/paint over their chrome bumpers with good turnout (or powdercoat as well)
however, with how cheap Vinyl wrapping is getting now - why not go that route? It's likely you can find a matching vinyl with a...
I've had a few windshields done on vehicles with rain sensing - and done wrong, So I learned more than I needed to regarding rain sensing.
There's a 'gel pad' attached to the sensor wiring that should be bubble-free and adhered to the windshield within the sensing window; you generally won't...
lol well I'm getting insurance to cover my Left tail... so if you're looking for a left led tail for science, I'll have one hah. gotta check on the right side today
That's for 8 pieces! (of course measure the diameter, I just picked one).. or you could prob buy a single at a hardware store
Unless you're out mudding/sand dune running, it's a nice piece of mind item, but agreed, likely not needed for daily use
If the diameter is close, it'll just be a...
if just a dust cap - something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Round-Black-Flexible-Rubber/dp/B075WWNM8Y
might not be a bad thing for a sand dune day
*offroad use only - possible solution -
I think I posted a possible solution for that was to trick the comp (while offroad) to believe your wheels are enormous (not sure what the max ratio is), but if you figure what your current ratio is vs speed and calculate what your ideal offroad speed...
I'll have to check mine + might as well give the headlights a good looking over...
Unfortunately my taillight was cracked by someone who didn't leave a note at the local hardware store, so I'm replacing it anyway (and OMG they're expensive).
