What did you do to your Ram today???

Stores near me stock it, this is the store I bought it from. They've never had it before; I went in to buy Mobile 1 and they had PUP so I bought it. Normally I order it off Amazon but I've had 2 orders where the bottles came with loose caps and leaking, didn't want to bother with that

What did you do to your Ram today???

Another oil change but for the DIYers, Walmart now carries PUP 5W -20 and 5W - 30 for $29. Theres also a shell $25 rebate for a 10qts or two 5 quart jugs purchase making your cost for two 5qt jugs almost half price...

Lots of chips on front bumper - what to do?

Paint it, let it cure then PPF it. Mine after 80K miles and 4 years. PPF is doing its job. I'll let it ride another year or 2 then have the front, hood and flares re-done. Front fenders are still good

    SO Hurricane at drag strip

No, its the torque and time spent in the powerband; this is also why I dont like the 3.92 in the SO and especially the HO, wayy too much gear for that much power. 550 tq from the HO and 3.92's are going to make for an annoying combination with no time spent in the meat of the torque curve...

    SO Hurricane at drag strip

Thats because of the massive amounts of torque that combo makes. keeping the engine in the power band and less shifting is always going to be quicker

    SO Hurricane at drag strip

Not really, it depends on a lot of other variables, mainly the torque curve. Numerically lower gears in a modern 8-10 speed trans can be both quicker and faster than numerically high gears because they keep the engine in peak power longer. That said, this truck is likely a 3:55 or a 3:92 as you...

Dealer Freaked out when they saw IGLA/CompuStar

Seems like the smart thing to do and exactly what I would have done if in the same situation; I'd damn sure tell the service advisor about this system if my truck was in for work. My car has a twin disk ceramic clutch that takes more than understanding how to drive a manual trans to drive. I...

    180 degree thermostat

    Lol, OK

    180 degree thermostat

Like I said, there may have been something wrong with your truck from the start as it ran warmer than mine in cooler temps 33c = 91F 101c coolant = 213.8F 105c oil = 221F

    180 degree thermostat

I saw a 2 mpg drop, while small, on a truck that only got 14mpg, it was far more than insignificant but as was said earlier, do what you want, its your truck

    180 degree thermostat

Theres no doubters here, it simply doesnt work that way but that said, you're running 95c unloaded oil temps. Its 102° in Dallas and my oil temps are 203°F-210°F daily. My oil and coolant temps are actually the same winter & summer irrespective of outside ambient and with a stock t-stat.
