I agree with this, it does seem like ram started reading their own press and inflated prices quite a bit while also taking away options running the cost of the truck up even higher.
For me, I'd like a tungsten but not 4x4 and not 392 gears and not ram boxes. Those are three extra cost features...
Ford doesn't offer the 5.0 in top level trims, this is no different than other oems at this point. You want a V8 ford, it's only in low-level trims.
The V8 sound, that's subjective. At this point, I don't want to hear the engine whether it be a V6 straight 6 V8 straight 8 v12, I want quiet...
I don't even buy the hemi lifter "issue", I've put nearly 400k miles on 2 different hemi trucks with no lifter related issues.
Turbos are more complicated but that doesn't mean failure prone, they also don't really require more than an NA engine other than a 2-3 atmosphere map sensor and the...
UV light has eaten the clear coat from that area which was probably thin to begin with. Since its the roof, I'd lightly wet sand it with 800 then 1500 then spray some automotive clear on it feathering the perimeter then wet sand it again with 1500 then polish
I disagree, OEM turbo systems have come a long way in both reliability and power. I don't believe the hurricane engines will have any more issues than the HEMI as long as maintenance (regular oil changes) is performed.
I wouldn't, the high output Hurricanes are still a better engine.
I'd rather have the option of 4x4 and ramboxes.
I give zero credence to a youtuber claiming stellantis mis judged the V8 market, Ford and Toyota are selling with the 6's
To be honest, I keep the rpms under 2k most of the time which is probably why my truck gets good mpg.
My car is a different story that car sees 7200 rpm once the oil fully heats up.
I have 4 payments left and 2 more years of max care warranty after its paid off in July. I'm not burying anything for at least the remainder of my warranty.
It is tempting though, 72k for a tungsten and I could probably get 35-30k for my truck (according to carfax and carvana that keeps...
That's sound advice for any engine, I do that in my truck and my car, no more than 2K rpm until the oil hits 130° and dont go above 3K until the oil at 150°
Yeah, that would e too much temptation to fight. Not going to answer the phone or look at DM's for a few weeks. Luckily they sold the delmonico one they had on the way and only have ivory now
I washed then clayed with a fine clay towel then did a 2 step polish (yes, again) and finally got a chance to ceramic coat it with System X Max G.
This ceramic coating should last 3-4 years. Claims 5-10 but IDK about that
Im going to take the wheels, clean, polish and ceramic coat them next...
Every BMW owner has told me the same thing, dont on one out of warranty. Nice cars but F all that expense. 100k mile 2016 3 series was probably 13-14K last year so they put some money in that pit
Mark Dodges pricing on Tungstens has got me looking too. I don't need a new truck but I want a...
Ive had those tires since 21, replaced the goodyears with them. They are great in the rain, my only negative is that they are about 3lbs heavier than the goodyear and my mpg dropped about 1mpg; other than that, theyve been good tires
The difference in levels of service form delaer to dealer is staggering with dodge and IMO will be why they continue to flounder. I have learned the same lessen as you albeit much more minor but the same service none the less. Dodge should be ashamed of theselves for the inconsistency of service...
No one is sayng its not real, just that its not a bad system or a reason to avoid the truck; the complaints are overblown on forums like every other issue.
Me neither. Id be willing to bet that if a national pole was created asking the question, the "problems" response would be dwarfed by the "no problems" responses
The truck as a whole is complicated, most modern cars are but you are talking about hypotheticals with regards to reliability; there's more threads here about broken and problematic 4x4 systems than there are etorque problem threads. People are waiting weeks for all kinds of simple production...
Why? The majority of owners are more than likley 100% satsified. Millions of etorque trucks on the road with relativley few problems. Youre going to hear Ram complaints on a Ram forum that sound frequent and numerous however the people with no issues arent on forums
