I’ve always been intrigued by the Leer Locker, but didn’t feel that I needed the space it provides nor did I want the bulk. I’d considered making a smaller, lower profile tray that was hinged at the back for carrying tie downs and such, but I hit on the idea of putting removable cases up there...
Built a Milwaukee Packout mounting solution for the ceiling of the topper. There’s a little more info in my thread in the “Members Trucks“ section for anyone interested in how or why.
When I was cover shopping I narrowed it down to the Truck Covers USA American Roll Cover and the Pace Edwards Ultragroove Metal. Both of these covers give you the ability to access the bed when locked without a key which was very important to me. Their latches are operated from the underside of...
We have the same truck... And the same problem. I haven’t tried too hard yet get a handle on mine since conditions have to be right for it to happen. It’s quite annoying when it does though, so I’m sure I hit the tipping point soon.
In not Idaho970, but it’s the same one I use. It was the only one that I felt was large enough to work with the seat bottom up or down and go all the way to the floor...
Another addition to the truck over the last week. Since the topper (and for that matter, the lift over prior to the topper) makes things in the front of the bed a little harder to access, I started looking for a solution. I found a local seller offering a used Slide Master slide out with their...
I left little bits of chrome here and there on my Limited and am glad I did. I think your truck looks fantastic, but I’m admittedly biased. This might explain why: https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/my-mostly-chrome-deleted-mostly-badge-deleted-limited.21764/
I think/hope that in my truck, it might be related to the media hub as some others have mentioned. The “Device Not Supported“ messages have stopped popping up and have been gone for a while now, but CarPlay does not work, and has not worked for months. In fact, the audio system does not...
I’ve only seen one TRX on the road. It was driving towards me in the opposite lane, in traffic, it was raining outside (not great visibilty), and I instantly knew it was different. Oddly, it took another heartbeat to register that it was a black TRX. Did not really want one until then.
Pictures of the camera mount, a couple with the new Yakima racks, and a few from our earlier Texas freeze. I’m sure that many from more northern latitudes will scratch their heads over the snow pictures, but for us, it’s almost alien world weird. I’ve grown up playing and working outdoors in...
I’m sorry but I don’t have more pictures and the truck isn’t with me. Basically, I just cut, heated and bent a piece of ABS plastic to the right shape and angle and then used VHB tape to stick it to the inside of the glass above the weather strip so that it hangs over the top.
I have a camera mounted on my rear cap that is part of a digital rear view mirror. I posted my impressions in my truck’s thread in the “Member’s Trucks“ sub forum. Short answer is that I wasn’t happy with the degraded nighttime performance when mounted behind the dark tinted glass and moved it...
You can, but the reflected view is dimmer than a regular mirror. Since my rear view mirror was already so greatly compromised by the layers of privacy glass, I wasn’t surprised to find it hard to use like that. I tried it with the Leer’s back glass flipped up and It’d be absolutely usable as a...
Put the racks I had mounted over the Pace Edwards retractable tonneau on the topper for a trip down to the coast to visit my Dad. I thought I might strap some fishing rods up there, but ended up fitting them inside the bed under the Leer. I wanted to see how they did as far as noise goes anyway...
Unless the truck battery is also dead, the tailgate handle works like a mechanical/manual release when the doors are unlocked. Doesn’t matter if the fob is dead.
