Since he mentioned the behavior of his 2500 and he also referenced the 6.4l Hemi, I think it's safe to assume that he's still referring to the 2500. The more torque the engine has, the more effectively it can use MDS.

MDS/Eco also won't engage under engine braking. I've seen this with steep downgrades here in Colorado. The instant economy still shows 99 MPG, but 8 cylinders pumping offer more resistance than 4.

My experience tells me that eTorque keeps MDS engaged longer and smooths the transitions. I can't think of a way that they could have made MDS any better combined with eTorque.

I didn't accept any configurations that didn't have the 33 gallon tank. I wanted range comparable to my previous vehicle. You can always put 26 gallons in a 33 gallon tank, but you can't put 33 gallons in a 26 gallon tank. The $445 option is sooo worth it. I appreciate the level of effort...

Mine got better at the first oil change at under 5K.

When I was shopping for my truck in the US, the only options were 26 and 33. The 'Classic' 1500 had an option for 23.

Sounds like a problem with the ATMMs. They should cancel the vibration when MDS is active.

Yeah, we've discussed the crap out of that in what's likely multiple threads on the subject. With Costco you can usually get Premium at Mid-grade prices. My Costco has 85 Regular and 91 Premium. The "...can't find any "TOP TIER" FUEL" comment doesn't seem to be aimed specifically at 89 octane.

I had mine replaced at less than 5K. It was way dirtier than I expected. We have this fine grey dust here that seems to be everywhere.

I seem to recall that when they announced it at SEMA they were claiming something like a 10 HP increase. I don't think I imagined that.

Heading into Winter gas formulations again. I'm sure there will be more folks with new trucks complaining about MPG soon.
