Recirc probably seems like a different fan level, but the difference in RPM is likely due to having a shorter intake path feeding the blower.

I did the math in another thread on the subject. The EcoDiesel option is $3,000 more than the Hemi with eTorque. At $2.50/gallon, that comes out to 1200 gallons which is over 36 tanks on a 33 gallon equipped truck.

Mine was dirtier than that with less than 5K. It was shocking how much crap that filter ingested in that time. I let the dealer do it when I had my oil changed. Cost me $28.35 installed.

You'll do well with the Hemi +eTorque and the 3.21 rear axle. I roadtrip regularly and that combination gets good mileage for me. I'm really surprised how well it does for such a large and heavy vehicle. I'm also keeping an eye on how the new diesels perform over the next couple of years...

I was a little surprised to hear that GM MPG drops from 33 (2WD) to 29 (4WD). There's also the 10-speed vs. 8-speed difference. Does Ram go for a higher MPG number with a lower rear axle ratio, and then anybody that wants the towing capability will never see those numbers? So much drama. :eek:
