According to the part number there have been 5 revisions but the paperwork for the last time mine was replaced shows this latest revision part number (Sept 2021). I went ahead and ordered one from Mopar anyway and will verify the part numbers when I get it.
Part Number: 68272254AE...
Just want to add that not sure exactly what causes the power to come back to the media hub during the course of normal driving when the cabin temp and ultimately the temp of the thermistor come back down to safe operating temps but can confirm that pulling the F43 fuse and putting it back in did...
Just looked and the part listed on the paperwork is 68272254AE. I am going to order a new one and hope that it was a bad batch of resistors. [emoji1695]
I just did the Harbor Freight hose clamp because it was easier and I can say that never in the 3 and a half years of owning this truck have I ever had to turn the AC up because it was too cold. Holy Cow what a difference that made. Granted it was only 80-90’s when I drove it this morning but it...
If someone could absolutely tell me it has been fixed I would do it in a heartbeat. The problem is Ram/Dealer haven’t acknowledged that it is an issue. Did some research last night and found some interesting stuff. For Automotive USB applications they use thermal resistors. So basically to try...
More good information from a local Microchip about Media Hubs.

Note the Temperature Sensors section.
Found this article in PTC Thermistors. Basically it’s a heat sensitive resistor this limits current as the temperature rises. A common application is USB. This could explain the behavior we are seeing but it seems that they could possibly be a bad batch because according to a paper I found that...
@theblet Since you are experiencing the same issue I had another thread going asking if it was possible to bypass the media hub and go directly to the head unit for CarPlay. According to one guy you cannot but I noted some observations over there if you want to take a look. I am now determined...
Well evidently it’s one hour so not sure about the correlation there. Of note today though, it got up to 108° or so and I made multiple trips throughout the day so I don’t think the USB was every actually powered off and the cabin never got hot enough for the issue to occur. Very strange.
Messed around with it some more. F43 goes to the OBD port under the steering wheel as well as the CD Player and USB ports. I didn’t actually try the ones in back. Knowing that it went to the OBD port a light bulb clicked and I have an OBDII reader. I hooked it up and poured through the app I...
Ok. I can confirm that the USB does not get power from the radio. Just pulled F43 and lost power to the hub and I believe the CD player. My next test when this happens will be to test the power to the fuse location and whether the CD Player has power. A brisk 108 here in Phoenix today so...
A couple of times I have seen it where the USB ports will supply power but no data connection, but typically it’s just completely dead. If the power to the USB is supplied by external power then it’s either not getting power or there is something in the media hub that’s cuts it off at high...
Well functionally it works because I can turn it on, connect to it, and get to AT&T’s website to attempt to sign up. So my guess is I am caught in the middle of someone’s contract dispute. Great!
Ok, so you sound like someone who knows what they are talking about. Any idea which component is heat sensitive causing it to not work in high temps? Also, do the rear USB ports go through the front media hub as well, because they do not work either in high temps The fact that the USB loses...
From everyone’s (including mine) anecdotal experience, while driving with air on max it’s almost always 30 minutes and it will come back on. I sat in my truck running with the AC full blast for an hour and couldn’t get it to turn back on. If ran for a little while and then turning off the car...
