5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

I paid $47,5k on a $61,3k truck - I wonder if I could do the same sale if I had to? I figured the easy access to these rebates made for the used/trade in pricing to be lower as a result. Either way, glad to hear it worked out.

5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

Not sure what report that all came from, I simply went by the IIHS data: https://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/ram/1500-crew-cab-pickup https://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/toyota/tundra-crew-cab-pickup Tundra did not do very well on the small overlap tests. Marginal and Poor...

    Road noise- interior

I debated the strip as well, and ultimately decided against it. It's a $20 part to us, so it's probably pennies to FCA - they deleted it for a reason in my opinion. I'd rather have the noise, than have grit and dirt get rubbed into the lower portion of the cab by that strip, and kick-start some...

5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

A guy in my industry has gone through 2 new 5.0 engines from Ford in his 2017 apparently. Definitely seems like I dodged a bullet. The Hemi was super reliable in my Jeep, figured why not keep going with it and get a RAM. :)

5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

I love the sound of a good V8, so I was looking at Coyote-equipped models. About on par with the Hemi, with 10 ft/lbs deficit on torque though, and it definitely seemed to like to rev. The 10 speed kept it in the power though. My pick would have been with 3.73 gears, just like with the RAM I...

5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

I had about $14k in rebates and discounts on mine. :) I was looking at a 2018 F150 Lariat and the 2019 Laramie, before deciding on the RAM. The Ford was about $5k more, and had features I didn't particularly see much utility in. That, and the ZF8 transmission in the RAM is proven, whereas that...

5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

This. If that's the case, I almost want to sell my Laramie and go buy a Limited LOL

5th Gen Ram Sold after 5 Months, PROBLEMS!

Watch the crash test videos on the Tundra... I’ll get my RAM fixed every month before I drive that death trap..

Stock exhaust found liquid dripping from muffler

Some folks (myself included) had loose sway bar end link bolts, which would cause a bang or clunk while driving, turning, etc. FCA's solution is to replace the entire sway bar assembly... I simply went under the car with a socket wrench and fixed it in 30 seconds. Took longer to crawl under than...

*UPDATE* $250 Rebate on ALL New Rams

I took it like this, but really it is just market research for FCA. They want to see who their new customers are, they already know their older/longtime ones. I went from a Jeep to a RAM, but because another family member at my address leases an Audi, I was able to still qualify!

    Tonneau Cover advice

This was exactly what I wanted to see, thank you so much! I will definitely be getting the Armor Flex now.

    Gen4 seats

My Laramie has some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in for a car. The variety of adjustment you get out of them is also pretty good. These are even more comfortable than my 2009 Lincoln Town Car that I had back in college even, and that was a couch with wheels! ;)

    Tonneau Cover advice

That's the one I've been looking at. Do you have any pictures of it on your truck? Also, how close does the rear cable latch system ride up against the tailgate? I know with the older BakFlip models similar to this, they were into the bed area a bit further, so a knowledgeable crook can jimmy...

    Bad fuel mileage 5.7 hemi

Thank you for the reply. The rare instance when I am in 4-wheel of any kind, it is 4Auto (even offroad). While in a muddy field, I put it in 4 High to give it a test, and could feel a bit of extra drag on the system compared with 4 Auto.

    Traction control

Unfortunately, as of around 2012~, ESC has been required in all new passenger vehicles sold.

*UPDATE* $250 Rebate on ALL New Rams

At my last job, we used to run promotions all the time. We would disclaim 8-10 weeks as well, but customers usually got their rebate or free good well before that. It's just a CYA in case something delays the process, whether it be funding, lack of resources, or something getting lost along the...

    Rebel Gas Hog

I've noticed this too! Accelerate to speed very lightly? Poor gas mileage. Get up to speed quickly and stay there? Much better! Makes sense though. The instant fuel economy while accelerating is like 3-5 mpg. It's better to get it over with quickly, than to drag it out.

    Help me choose my truck!

Hey there, it was a 2015, a Summit as well. The 19-speaker H/K system in it is why the RAM ultimately became my top pick for a new truck. Was a great vehicle except for the constant headache of the 'Quadra-Lift'. I had the Lifetime MaxCare, so I wasn't bothered so much by the possibility of it...

    Chrome Corroding After 4 months

Polishing removes material to create a smoother surface / get rid of surface imperfections. If it is rusting like that, it is probably deeper than the surface, and the plating in that area has already failed or was improperly done, which polishing probably will not fix. You should speak with...

    Help me choose my truck!

After all the problems I had with the air suspension in my Grand Cherokee, that was the one thing I absolutely wanted to be without on my RAM. It was great when it worked, but just one more expensive thing to go wrong. It failed on my Jeep around 17,000 miles. The dealer was great and got it...
