Excellent!
The other thing if not the rear diff itself, is if you have a crew cab and thus the 2-piece driveshaft, is the carrier/mid-bearing on the driveshaft. These can make a grinding sound as they fail as well.
Someone clipped the left side of my rear bumper in traffic a couple of weeks ago. His car needs a new fender, bumper and headlight... I had some scratches on the bumper after I wiped off the paint transfer. It handled that perfectly. As another poster mentioned, some flex is a good thing.
I looked at all of them before deciding on the RAM. I thought the RAM was the best value for the price, but so was my Jeep Grand Cherokee vs the Explorer and what not.
I was very close to buying a 2018 F150 Lariat, and even told the Ford dealer that I still wanted to check out a RAM. They...
This isn't 2-1 downshifting that some of us are talking about, I've been in several vehicles with the ZF8, and not just FCA models. Your transmission should be in first gear after being stopped for several seconds, which is when this bump is happening for some of us. My dealer found a problem...
I touched a magnet to all major panels and pieces when I first bought mine.
The hood and tailgate are aluminum, but the rest is steel, including the bumpers. The wheel well liners are a must have in my opinion, as they keep most of the salt and brine from getting slung all over the underside of...
Mine does it slightly as well, as did the 5.7L Hemi in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, along with a 2017 Charger R/T I had as a rental one time. I think it's pretty normal for these engines.
Wow, excellent that you got yours so fast.
It's been way over 10 weeks since I actually signed up, and this week concludes the 8th week since the time they actually acknowledged approval from FCA.
Thank you Lamar, my dealer called me this morning to let me know the part arrived, and we've scheduled for next Thursday morning for the install and subsequent test drive. I will keep everyone apprised of how this goes, and hopefully this corrects the problem.
If you haven't already, enable the gear counter on the dash so you can see what gear it is in. I've got 3.92's, so the downshift happens at a pretty low speed, but still will get to first before I stop - and I get the bump even 30 seconds after I've stopped. It happens when I let off the brakes...
For those of you having the dreaded 'bump' after you come to a stop and let off the brakes, and also sometimes when taking off from a stop - I might have some good news.
My dealer spent two days last week looking at my truck, and had their shop foreman look at my truck. He felt it clear as day...
Got this email this morning:
"This is to inform you that your BonusDrive check is in process and will be sent to you very soon! Once we have completed the process, we will send the check to you via Priority Mail along with a tracking number so that you know when to expect the actual delivery...
Funny, the Ford dealer I was looking at a Lariat at tried to talk me out of going to the RAM dealer as well, once I said I had another truck to look at before deciding. "Oh you'll like this one better, don't even waste your time over there."
They know.
The air suspension is absolutely wonderful when it works right. You get load leveling, less body roll on turns, and it seems to dampen better as well. Unfortunately, it was the one thing that kept having problems on my Grand Cherokee Summit, so I opted to go without it when I bought my RAM.
Just a software update to correct some issues with possible data corruption occurring on the ECU, which could in turn disable the airbags. Mine got done today during an appointment for something else.
This.
Please share as much as possible. I’m 99% certain mine is drive shaft slip yoke related. I don’t wanna go back and forth with the dealer for weeks.
