You should not have lost the flash update. Much like with BIOS on a motherboard, 'flashing' a PCM is a permanent change until you complete another flash to revert back to a previous, or update to a newer version of the software.
I've had rust on various seat brackets and parts inside the car in just about every car I've ever owned. Moisture gets into your car, and becomes a great environment for it to rust things. I'll have to check my RAM when I get back from overseas.
Be interesting to see if this truly is for all RAMs. I could understand it for the diesels, given the issues the eco diesel had previously along with the VW-like scandal. Also, the Cummins equipped 2500/3500 have a 5/100 warranty as well, which might show consistency for this being a diesel thing.
I'm afraid you are right. I knew there would be issues on a first year model, but didn't think it would be the technology that's almost as old as time now, like a drive shaft. :ROFLMAO:
But, seeing how FCA took care of me while I had my Grand Cherokee, and with the few issues we've had with...
I honestly do not know what to make of it. It's certainly back, but for the first few days / hundreds of miles, it was back to perfectly smooth and without a bump. It started back gradually, to the point of me thinking it was simply my imagination after dealing with it for so long, but that's...
Mine also feels a bit tight in 4WD Auto on turns, usually just with some clutch noise as I'd describe it. The way I see it, when you are turning, all four wheels are turning at different speeds (inner vs outer wheels, front and back) - this makes the transfer case sense slippage, and hence the...
If anything, the speedometer and related components are probably slower than actual rate of acceleration. My Grand Cherokee had the same engine but with 360hp and 390ft/lbs compared to our 395/410, and was able to do 6 seconds with 3.09’s and same transmission. Vehicles weigh similarly as well...
Hey friend, the dealer wouldn’t give me the case number unfortunately. The new driveshaft made things great for the first two days, but it’s back to doing the bump again - but it’s less severe than before. I’m on the road right now but it you search my posts, I shared the dealership work invoice...
I’ve used only 89 in both my 5.7’s over the years. On my trip down to SC from VA, I got 20.5 mpg - with a bike rack loaded up, and cargo in the bed. The tonneau cover probably helped. I have 3.92 gears as well, no etorque.
My commute mileage is usually around 16, with heavy stop and go.
Just an update: it has been exactly one week since my truck got a new driveshaft under warranty. That seemed to make the bump/surge go away. It has now returned, though not nearly as harsh as before. I took a 400 mile trip to South Carolina and have been driving around down here all week, maybe...
I can get it to very lightly do so under the right conditions. If I slow down or stop very very slowly, I can get it to happen - but it’s very soft and nowhere like the violent jolt I had before. Under normal driving and stopping it will not do it at all. I haven’t heard the start up clunk since...
Well, the new drive shaft fixed it for me. No more bump after stopping / letting off the brakes, or when accelerating.
I will update in the morning after my cold start before work, as to whether this also fixed the start up clunk that someone else asked about.
I've redacted some info, but here...
Just picked up my Undercover ArmorFlex last night from a local shop. I didn't want the hassle of having to schedule a freight delivery during the workday if I ordered it online, along with having to inspect everything and then sign for it. The shop got it for me in one business day, and they...

I have this exact same issue. Upon coming to a stop, a bump feeling when letting off the brakes. The times when it does not happen, I get the same bump when accelerating from a stop instead...
