Definitely read the fine print and see what incentives they are factoring in.
That being said, my Laramie had a MSRP of $61,300 and the asking price from the dealer before I even set foot in was $49,000. This was the price they were at when I showed up and went through the game, so sometimes...
My 2015 Grand Cherokee with the Hemi also had the startup clunk. I wrote it off as just a normal "thing" they do. My RAM occasionally does it as well.
As to the clunk while turning, mine did that too and it was the passenger side sway bar end link, the upper part that attaches to the frame. It...
Very good points. I was able to order the part for $11.xx plus shipping, which means FCA probably spends at most a buck or two to make / procure them - so why did they delete it halfway through the model year? There has to be some kind of reasoning for this.
I wish I had seen this post as well as the one below it. In the process of canceling the seal I ordered last night, I didn't even think of this. I'm sure all kinds of junk gets trapped between that seal and the cab, and becomes a polishing agent as the seal moves. Same thing happens when you put...
The ZF8 is a fantastic transmission, if not the best on the road today. The V8 and diesel FCA vehicles (RAM, Durango, Grand Cherokee, etc) get a ZF-sourced unit, whereas V6 models get one made under license by Chrysler. I've seen problems posted regarding the Chrysler-made ones, but not so many...
Keep in mind, the 8 year / 75000 mile warranty extension simply extends the 3/36 to 8/75, with caveats the original warranty doesn't have. I didn't get any use out of my Lifetime Maxcare on my last FCA vehicle, so unfortunately it was a waste.
But as the other poster mentioned, you can get that...
Yep, that got me on the first time I backed into a parking spot with absolutely no obstacles anywhere near. It sensed the concrete parking stop and went full brake.
My Jeep did this to me once as well, so I immediately disabled the auto-braking feature.
Likewise, I had a VW Tiguan as a rental in Germany a few years back. I was approaching this windy mountain road with a wall lining the rock face, and the sensors thought I was running towards the wall and...
My 3.92 at 70 mph will show instant of between 15-25 mpg depending on incline, wind, etc. This is using 89 octane. I'm around 3300 miles now, and Eco (MDS) is engaging at higher speeds than it would before. I've also averaged 18 mpg per the computer since I filled up Sunday night, for my 50/50...
Having done gear swaps in previous vehicles, I can tell you it's just not worth it anymore. On old cars where it was easy, and re-calibrating the speedometer meant inserting a new speedometer gear into the transmission, it wasn't that bad. But now, you'll spend a couple thousand on the gears...
Friday update (fill up day). 16 mpg, a whole mpg improvement over last week, despite even worse traffic this week on my commutes.
Just crossed 3000 miles this week. Temperatures between 35-70 (mornings vs evenings, thanks a lot Virginia!). This is a great increase to me, nearly a full MPG...
Mine has been getting better almost every week. I'm at 3000 miles as of Monday, and into my 7th week of ownership. I'm pretty heavy on the throttle and can still eek out almost 15, and with calm driving up to 17 in my 60/40 highway/city commute.
I second these two links. Jeep Garage was very helpful to me when I had my 2015 Grand Cherokee, and wk2jeeps was GREAT for tracking down TSB's and problems I was experiencing on mine. Great source of info in general.
I hope you like the Grand! Mine had the Hemi and was almost as much fun as...
My dealer lost the second key fob originally and had to order me a replacement. Not two weeks after I got the replacement, they found the original second. So now I have three - maybe get them to lose one.
Hey there, I’m actually at another local dealer right this minute, who ordered the recall parts for me when I came in for something else. They got the parts in two days. Very happy with their service, will be coming here from now on for such things.
Thank you for reaching out!
I used an 18mm deep-well socket, attached to a typical 1/4" foot-long drive. It's tight in there, but if you put the socket on first, then get the drive up in there, you can get it. I used my thumbs and pushed against the frame of the car to tighten.
Not sure, I have an appointment on Monday...
Glad you are happy with it! I got the locker in my Laramie as well, and agree with your sentiment. In my mind, a limited slip diff is better suited for a car or family SUV. A locking differential is far more capable when the terrain gets bad, as it physically locks the two wheels together...
