So I just got done reading all 21 pages of JL forums thread on the same issues that @RIC3BOY mentioned on the original post. From what I've gathered from both sides of the house (RAM & Jeep):
- Temperature could have an impact, most people experience the issues around freezing temps
- All began...
Tensions rise when there's money and defective products involved lol. Well that’s good and bad news all in one, if it’s widespread throughout the Chrysler line up it may in fact be a Uconnect issue, I highly doubt the RAM's, Wranglers and Pacifica's (don't do it lol) use the exact same wiring...
Yes, but I have to open and close the driver door then restart it, once you open the door after turning off it’ll kill the power to the radio, after that It’ll work perfect again until I take the truck out of park.
That’s good info, yours is behaving completely different from mine then. With mine it only starts once I move the shifter out of park then it’ll keep doing it until you turn the truck back off and restart it. If mine acts up again I’ll take a better video of it than what i currently have...
Correct me if I'm wrong but the JL's use an "old school" gated shifter not a rotary knob like the RAM's right? If so, they may share similar switches/wiring but the hardware itself would be different so we could eliminate the shifter (to an extent). I wonder if there's a cut out switch/momentary...
The tech noted that as well, he said they did multiple tests in different situations to see what (if anything) affected the cut out. In the brief 3 min phone convo we had he said that when the truck proximity sensors detect an obstacle near the truck it will cut out the volume so you can hear...
Just out of curiosity, if your sister is an engineer for FCA what's her input on the issue? She's closer to the "action" than anyone else on here. My only assumption is that if it is in fact affected by colder temps then FCA wouldn't of known about this issue until the temps dropped in the fall...
Nope I sure don't, i'm in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and I own a auto detailing business. You think i'm happy about it either, heck no. But getting all bent out of shape and coming at someone on a forum telling them they are making excuses for FCA is no way to respond either, perhaps...
Wow, I’m making excuses for FCA? Is that because unlike you I’m a rational person that understands buying a new model refresh in its first year will inevitably have quirks and issues? In case you haven’t figured this out yet, every person on here has spent “top dollar” on each truck they bought...
They can’t issue a recall until they come up with a fix, maybe you have a bad dealer/service advisor but mine said FCA and their engineers are fully aware of the issue and actively working to fix it. Unfortunately when the issues first started popping up late last year they weren’t able to...
I completely understand your frustrations with them using your truck as a lab rat throwing parts at it. Thankfully my dealer is good about not throwing parts at issues, they specifically said they won’t replace anything until they know it will fix it for sure which is why I’m optimistic with...
Update: Picked up my truck from the dealer yesterday (not fixed) however the service manager and the tech working on my truck said they have an engineering team coming in on the 18th to look at it and try to fix it. They are aware that there are many others experiencing the same issues and also...
Update. My truck initially started the intermittent radio/camera cut out last week. Took my truck in for an oil change and to address the issue with the service department. Service department said the truck stored 2 codes for the radio/camera loss of communication and they were able to actively...
Well i'm no longer on the sidelines, que the radio cut outs and camera issues. Bought the truck new November 10th over 4200 miles with zero issues until now. Parked it at a buddy's house for a few hours and when i was going to leave he wanted to check out the truck since he's looking at getting...
So like many on here i too fell victim of the tow mirror debacle but the most confusing part about mine was the window sticker listed 3 different option packages for mirrors, surprise surprise when i discovered this frosty morning that not only did they delete my power folding but the dumbo ears...
There is A LOT of good shops in the VA Beach area, a good way to narrow some down is do a Facebook search for detailers in the area and read through the reviews from people, check out the pictures of their work and look for somewhere that's clean and reputable. There's a lot of good coatings out...
Some good points, and a few misses (my .02).
I'm also a detailer as well as being in the Military. I've owned my detail business for many years now and I started doing my homework on Ceramic Coatings about 5 years ago. When they first hit the market they were so expensive that it was limited to...
