That's an easy load for the 1500. May want to get a larger drop receiver though as the trailer is not level, and putting some added weight on the rear trailer tires.
If you are really into camping or RV'ing then I would suggest getting the 3500 with diesel - if that is a true option for you right now. From what I've learned from my own experience (and others) you will eventually upgrade to a larger TT or fifth wheel. You have 2 kids which will eventually...
You are going to get 10 responses with 20 different opinions. They all work and have pros and cons. Everyone will mostly say the one they use is best. Most important is to get the one sized for you rig and trailer. I'd talk to a sales rep or go to eTrailer.com and look at some of the...
If just the rear it may be worth it. If you have 4wd it may not be worth it. I heard the gear set on the front diff is welded to the carrier so you'll need a new carrier as well which just raises costs more.
Prices vary from $1k to $2k per axle depending on where you go. I would go to a axle...
I had HP Tuners unlock the ECM and I've been having an issue where the ECM locks up and gives me a 'no bus' error. Everything slowly stops communicating (suspension, transfer case, ABS, etc) and then the motor finally shuts down on the highway. Can't restart either as the push start button is...
So there are at least two of us on this board. Nice to see.
I somewhat agree and disagree. Engineering is a science and it incorporates math, equations, theory, metallurgy, and other factors that can be calculated. What cannot be calculated is stupidity, or ones inability to operate a device...
I was speaking to how sales will play out. Many people say they want one but once the first round of buyers are done sales will drop quickly similar to the TH. This will lead to a huge surplus on the lots and these will be marked down nicely, and that is when you jump. Bought my TH like this...
I feel this will.play out just like trackhawks. msrp plus dealer markup. when everyone that needs to be first has one prices will drop and FCA will be marking them down nicely especially when inventory starts stacking up. covid stuff not helping. need to wait 1 year or so
My suggestion is to have a friend who has a similar truck tow with your truck. Wondering if the uneasiness is coming from your perception of how it should handle compared to your past experiences. I say this as this is the first 1500 truck I've towed with and I too thought this truck was awful...
That is why most people suggest the air bags. They cost more and are slightly more involved with keeping them at the right air pressure but the ride is just like stock. Air supply can be a cheap cigarette lighter air pump also. Needs very little volume.
I agree 100%.
I disagree 100%.
Engineers design equipment to meet a specific target so it can carry loads inside the warranty envelope without failure. Most designs have a FOS of 2 or more depending on how much the design has control to outside forces, impact loads, etc. To say you need a...
If you avoid these arguments then why do you keep posting responses?
I agree. You can cherry pick analogies to make a debate look favorable to one side or the other. But I digress....
You feel a truck/trailer setup that is at or below the mfg specs to be safe, and one that is 10 lbs over to...
I'm not arguing. I am offering my opinion and I believe my point has been lost with you which is fine. I am not saying its not unsafe. Lots of things in life are considering unsafe. Driving over the posted speed limit is unsafe. Browsing the internet without a proper firewall is unsafe but...
