@Cbty2050... any chance you could go under a truck with regular exhaust and take a few pictures? That way GT buyers have images in one location to compare to ensure what they are getting?
I live in MA, who'd you order your truck thru? Definitely give them a heads up on what you're hearing, and tell them you will be checking to make sure everything is correct before you take delivery.
That's a great thing about these forums, they give you the chance to get out ahead of issues...
The two really aren't comparable, are they? One is a silly marketing claim... the other is intentionally and deceptively substituting an item of greater value (Borla/Mopar exhaust) for one of lesser value (stock exhaust). There's an actual dollar value associated with it.
Look, all I'm saying...
I'm not sure. The pictures from the GT that @Cbty2050 took looks legit. You're kind of alleging that RAM is engaging in actual fraud.
IIRC, Borla exhausts take a while to "break in" so maybe that's why there's complaints? IDK
Thanks @Mclovinnnnn and @Shifts And Grins Fab... I'm interested in doing "something", but not sure what direction to go. Mclovinnnnn's take was one I hadn't seen before and looks really cool. But a good light bar set up probably makes more sense.
Anyway... back to our regular schedule program...
I feel like both the Geolander and the Baja Boss would be comparable to the Duratrac noise-wise... I could be wrong. KO2's are just plain good, and durable, etc... so why change a good thing? But they do run small and I already sometimes wish for something a bit bigger like a 295/70R18... but...
I'd be surprised if its 2mpg difference in the real world, provided both have 3.92 rear axles. If you're talking about a Laramie with a 3.21 rear axle, then perhaps that's right. Rebel's only come with 3.92's vs Laramie's give you the option to choose.
For sure! Lots of conflicting data there too, at least in the Survey responses. Not to mention you have tires like the KO2 with like 20 million miles worth of survey feedback, and other tires with just 1 million miles or less... so the data sampling is an issue.
The road test are definitely...
Regional differences are funny. It was wrong for me to assume what I see here in New England would be the same elsewhere. But, am I the only one who thinks Laramie's and Big Horn's are tough to distinguish, particularly with certain packages... like the Night Edition?
I've been riding on the factory set of Goodyear Duratracs for 2.5 years now and have 36,000 miles on them. Frankly they have been a great performing tire and have handled everything I've thrown at them... snow and ice, mud, extremely low pressures in deep deep sand, etc. They've stayed...
You definitely see fewer Rebels than you do Big Horns and Laramie's (which can be really tough to differentiate IMO). It's nice to have a truck that stands out and has "presence".
I wanted RAM boxes, but there weren't any on the dealer lots when I was shopping. I don't think any amount and/or combination of options would prevent you from towing a 5,000 pound travel trailer... Ram Boxes included.
Welcome to the Rebellion!
Lotta people run 295/70 and some have gone with 285/75 without mods. There are a number of threads in the Wheels and Tires section. 295's come really close to rubbing the knuckle and folks have added spacers just to be on the safe side.
Maybe check your sensor links at all 4 corners?
I had the suspension freeze up once after driving thru a pretty bad sleet/freezing rain storm to go skiing followed by temps going down to the teens when I came back to the parking lot. I started up the truck and got a "Air Suspension Disabled"...
This is a weird situation that I fortunately haven't experienced yet. I'm trying to think of what would cause a release valve to go off in a closed system, and all I come up with is that maybe it was over pressurized from the factory when they charged the system.
Something to keep track of as...
I think that would be a pretty standard Laramie, maybe even a little light on options (sun roof, etc.). The question only question is rear end gearing.
As others have noted, a Laramie with a 3.92 vs a Rebel... the Laramie might get about 1 mpg (18-19 mpg vs 17-18 mpg) better real world fuel...
