Dude, your engine is probably going to be ok. I'd definately try cleaning out the fragments of the broken lifter. They can use a magnet to try to fish out the broken pieces. Maybe some of the debris scratched the other parts, but there's a good chance everything will be ok. Have a shop clean it...
If it were me... I'd take it to an independant shop and see if they tell you the same thing. I agree with @CalvinC that I would try to understand exactly what failed before buying a new engine - maybe there's another solution instead of a new engine... I don't know, but I'd be damn sure to find...
Here's a tracker spreadsheet with the recent information from this thread. If members keep providing updates, I'll keep updating the spreadsheet and edit this post with the new information. Periodically, I can make a new post with the latest data (until I find a better way of doing it.) Here's...
The incentives will depend on where you're located in the country. I've just checked the 2024 Incentives for Texas and there appears to be no changes from last month (November).
In Texas, we were already at $5,500 in November/2023. It was made up of $4,500 National + an additional $1,000 for...
Here's a good video with the process of removing the badging. It uses a heat gun to soften the adhesive and remove the badge. Adhesive residue can be removed with a solvent such as alcohol, and if needed, a polishing compound can be used to blend the finish. Also, it shows a method of relocating...
Any recommendations of good running boards?
I'm looking for something with good traction along the full length, especially near the rear so that I can step up to access the bed. Also, I've got young kids that will use the step to get in and out- so having the grip along the full length would...
I found a pricing discrepancy on the ramtrucks.com website yesterday. I found it while I was rebuilding my factory order so that I could review the included features... I happened to notice that the quoted MSRP was $800 lower than it was when I placed my order last week.
Today I verified from...
Sounds brutal! Yeah, there are pockets of anti-competitive trade practices all over. If the parent company owns dealerships across different manufacturers, such as Ford and Ram, this allows some ability to fix prices and discounts, and lets them keep their prices higher than they otherwise...
We've all been there before... but to keep things in perspective, market conditions have a big impact on price negotiations. For instance, a couple years ago with the chip shortages and other supply chain challenges, prices were much higher - even for the best car purchase negotiator. Demand was...
If anyone is trying to figure out whether the financing promotion is better than the cash incentive, you can use this table. The values in the table are the amounts that you would save given different scenarios. If the cash incentive offered by RAM is bigger than the amount in the table, it's...
Thanks for all the great info on this post- I'm looking to purchase my first RAM 1500 as soon as I can find a great deal, and this thread has been super helpful.
Are people's experience here only with building/ordering a new truck from the factory, or are these discounts also available to be...
