Hey Ducks lover. I did the same. I did the back Laramie, 4x4, doors, hood and RAM on grill. Taking them off is obviously the same, but did notice that putting the RAM on doors was a little more difficult to get level. I purchased the letters on Ebay...link below. They come with the spacers...
If your talking about these letters in pix. It was tough until i used a pocket knife that was thin enough to get under the letters. Then it took about 1 min.
The tips are about a foot long and then held on by a clamp. Unscrew clamp and they should come right off, paint and then put back on. I am not an expert, but be careful about painting...normal paint will come right off due to the heat. Needs go be baked on or something like that. Would check...

BTW...every element is an option. They make a ton of variations on the mirrors, so you need to find out if your truck supports each features (i.e. defrost or blind spot) or not. Then I confirmed features with Infotainment to get the right one. They initially sent me mirrors without Blind...
That’s what they told me for other item. Then I called another dealer that checked inventory and determined it was in stock then I had to tell Infotainment. Crazy. Good luck.

Are you saying the door switch or mirror module in the door panel? The switch in the door (buttons to open close windows) should be readily available.
I did mine a month ago and no issues except for their shipping and taking forever and shipping wrong parts...otherwise install was fine...
