I was just wondering if there was a difference in distance between the axle and the hitch. Seems to me if the extra length in the cab and the long box were just added past the axle then you have more tail wag behind the truck.
Without doing my own research does anyone know if the wheelbase changes when going to a long bed with crew cab or do they just add the length of the truck past the axle?
I get duty truck eye candy every day from all the big three. Have a new 4500 in the shop now getting a flat bed installed. Of course the interior is bland in comparison. Also have a Chevy 5500 setting two bays over, that thing is a hoss.
I wanted a more usable truck but still comfy so I searched for a quad cab and found my perfect truck. Looking to buy a trailer with a hitch weight of 900#.

Ha! When these things come off the line and are driven to the parking lot then to the rail yard to be loaded, you don't know how they are driven.
