Couple different issues to clarify here - BAK and Truxedo are owned by the same company (Truck Hero - which also owns a large handful of other tonneau cover manufacturers as well). Many of their covers are pretty much the same across the brands with slight variations.
Bed rails - there are...
I thought the same thing at first but then I realized, that one picture shows the life of the vehicle mpg and the other is mpg for a trip odometer, which is presumably since his son took the truck.
Having owned a boat for 12 years, let me tell you about the two best days of boat ownership; the day you buy the boat and the day you sell the boat! In case you aren't aware, boat stands for - Bust Out Another Thousand! As boats age, the maintenance bills start to grow exponentially. And if...
Truxedo says it requires the silver rails as well. They are essentially the same cover, same manufacturer, different brand, with different overlays on top of the cargo rails.
I think the second part of my post put the real world perspective on it. Unfortunately, nobody seems to have read beyond the opening because they had their fragile 3.92 gear ratio egos hurt.
Actually, the math and science are pretty much indisputable that 3.21's get better highway mileage. There are literally hundreds of websites that validate this. However, this description probably sums up the issue the best.
"While the gear ratio will have an effect on the actual fuel economy...
I have a BAK Revolver X4S. Just over 21” from top of bed ribs to bottom ribs on cover. Cover is removable in under 5 minutes via 4 screws if you need more room compared to when it is rolled up. Doesn’t block the rear window view when rolled up or the digital rear view mirror camera like the...
What was the return trip mileage? I have a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid that from my home to New Haven I can get 34mpg. The return leg is 24mpg. One way mileages can be misleading.
I just took delivery of a Limited with Rambox and the MFT without the factory tonneau cover. I had the Bed Utillity Group via the 10th anniversary package. My cargo rails are silver not black. I installed a BAK Revolver X4S hard rollup cover. Fit perfectly and installed in about 45-50...
Looks great. Love that color and would have ordered it myself, but the wife's BMW has the same color. I went with the Revolver X4s as well. Love it. Under an hour to install, fit perfectly, and the MFT can close with the tonneau closed without an issue. My son asked me to move a sofa for...
I’d say it’s the other way around. The 3.92 posts here claim they get faster acceleration, heavier towing AND better gas mileage. If all three of those statements were indeed true, they wouldn’t offer a 3.21.
The absurdity of the entire debate is the inability of both sides to just admit...
I'm kind of upset that I ordered a 3.21. Even though I rarely ever tow (especially since I sold the boat last year), knowing that the biggest travel trailer I can tow is limited to a 33 footer really has me bummed. What was I thinking?!
