I used OEM style spring clamps when I installed my valve so the only tool needed is a pair of pliers. It literally went on in 2 minutes and most of that was freeing the “glued” hose from the hard line. I already had the valve and short piece of hose preassembled and the second spring clamp...
I’ve got 3000 miles on the truck. The trip to my moms house and back is an hour each way, mostly interstate with 65 speed limit, I’m driving 70 with cruise control on. Been making that trip 3 days a week for the last couple of weeks. A few of those days I reset the mpg meter when leaving my...
I’m 3000 miles in and loving the truck. Best truck I’ve ever had by far. No issues other than mediocre A/C, fixed that myself and blows cold now. Runs great, ride is great, tows great, love the features.
I went through the same doubts you’re having and finally just went for it. So glad I did.
The only warranty work that could be a concern to me would be something related to the cooling system. In that case, remove 2 spring clamps with a pair of pliers to return to stock. No biggie. I’m not removing it for oil changes and such.
I was more concerned with a failure related to clamping...
The valve sure cured my a/c. Was slow to cool down the cabin before. Now it reaches the set temp much quicker and the blower starts to wind down, ahhhh. I posted my vent temps a while back, before the valve the driver vent was 51 (the lowest i saw) when it was 86 outside. After the valve I got...
I’ve had this happen twice.
Conditions both times;
-it’s above 85 degrees out
-happens within a mile of a cold start
-engine cooling fan and interior blower running full blast
-set to AUTO 69*
-at a complete stop
-seat ventilator on
On mine the interior blower doesn’t stop completely but...
Maybe the dash doesn’t need to come out. Since we know that many members here have solved the issue with a manual valve, what’s to say that Ram doesn’t fix the problem with an electrically operated valve and a software update. Probably would cost them a lot less than pulling out dashboards. It’s...
Wow, you did great at Lindsay. I made 3 trips to that dealership trying to make a good deal and they couldn’t make it happen. Lots of haggling, not a good experience and I love to haggle. The 2 trucks I looked at in late April are still on their lot.
Walked out of there on the last day of April...
Yup, several clicks (like electrical relays) with mine at every startup.
Also heard the hemi tick when brand new. Haven’t heard it lately and I do listen.
I did see one 2019 do pulls on the dyno with the pulsar but to me it seemed inconclusive since not all the runs were done in the same gear. Claimed ~50hp which seems unrealistic. Truck wanted to downshift or hit the speed limiter on that dyno. If you saw another let us know and I’ll search for it.
