    Official G/T Ram Thread

Did you ever end up getting these? Do you have the part number? Would like to add these to my '20.

    AlfaOBD Known Changes 5th Gen

I am pretty sure it goes off. Hard to say for sure though - the icon shows off and the squiggly lines are not lit either.

    AlfaOBD Known Changes 5th Gen

I was able to get performance and off-road pages in the 12". I do not have them in the cluster. I think I am going to go back and remove the off-road pages though. It seems a little duplicative as there is a vehicle dynamics tab on the performance page. One thing I did notice - I changed my...

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

The strap(s) won't break, I think the plastic tank will eventually weaken and crack/leak. To be determined over time obviously, but there is a large portion of the tank not supported by anything other than the rigidity of the tank itself. I would think off-roading would accelerate that process...

    Uconnect 12 Issue - No Sound/Sirius Doesn't Load

I do not think so. I actually think it is something on the remote side of the communication (not the truck). I haven't had it happen since I last posted above and I haven't done anything different. I am not sure if there is some configuration pushes coming from the mother-ship, but I know the...

    Uconnect 12 Issue - No Sound/Sirius Doesn't Load

Well, my theory of a bad jump drive is bunk. Had the problem again this morning. It seems the only workaround is leaving FM on when you turn off the truck. Annoying. I have version 20.04.19 and it seems like there are a multiple newer versions. Hopefully I get an update soon.

    Uconnect 12 Issue - No Sound/Sirius Doesn't Load

Just curious - long shot - do the guys that have the problem have a USB stick or something plugged in? Since I have had the truck, I got a small microSD reader and have left it plugged into USB2 24x7. I have had uConnect lock up multiple times this week and, coincidentally, the reader no longer...

    Uconnect 12 Issue - No Sound/Sirius Doesn't Load

I had this problem for the first time once 3 months ago on my 20. It hasn't happened again until this week. Today was the 3rd time this week! I really do think it is a software issue. Hopefully they are releasing a fix soon. I don't think I want to roll the dice on a new head unit from the...

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

No idea on the dealer stuff. Alpha does this in 5 minutes though. The investment in the sw is small compared to all the time spent with the dealer. You can also change other things like fogs on with brights, drl staying on with signal, etc.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

That is odd, I used 68307831AB on my 2020 5.7l and it fit perfectly. It wasn't tight or crimped, seemed like the right part.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Yes, you need the factory 3rd bracket, not the nut though. I would talk to Bobbie first, he mentioned he would get it, but I had already bought it. I ended up shipping it to him as he needs it in person to mock it up.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Correct, the part that connects to the frame rail is the only part welded to the truck. The other piece gets welded to the other side of that bracket. It is way overkill for the weight it supports, but better overkill than not enough!

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Yes, you can install without dropping the tank. There may be easier ways to do the bracket with the tank out, but I don't have the fabrication equipment. Pics: https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/retrofitting-the-33-gallon-tank.1621/post-313020

This one, inside the truck, driver's side rear. You need to remove that for install.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Yes, he makes the part ready to install. You have to remove the in floor storage on the driver's side for install. Part of the bracket gets welded to the frame rail there and the other part gets welded to that bracket near the drive shaft.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Nice work! I just had the mount from Rammit's buddy for the 3rd strap welded in today. Fit perfect and now have the peace of mind knowing the tank is properly supported. Strongly recommend getting that mount!

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

My guess is the 3rd strap mount. That is the only piece that is not easily added and likely deemed necessary by FCA.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

I am in the process of getting a bracket made by Rammit's buddy. I will let you know how it works out. You just need to find a local welder for the install, which shouldn't be difficult.

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Just curious - for the people that don't have the fab skills or factory mount point for the 3rd strap - what if we used the 33 gallon skid plate and put rigid foam on top of it to serve as a wedge to support the front of the tank? It is definitely not as graceful as the OEM, but it does seem...

    Retrofitting the 33 gallon tank

Thanks to all that have posted info in completing this conversion. I just did it yesterday and it went pretty smoothly. Having a lift would make this job 10x easier, but doable with a jack and some jack stands. Tight quarters for the fittings on top of the tank. Couple things I may have done...
