I thought there was a big railroad hub somewhere around SLC. It's a pretty straight shot up I-15 to I-84 into Boise. I-80 is a mess right now, so if you are in NorCal, that may be a problem. If you are in SoCal, that may work better for you, I-15 all the way. Regardless, it's going to be close!
Man, you and I are going to be neck & neck to the finish! I suspect we are on the same train, it's going to come down to where they are offloaded and trucked to our dealer...
Edit: Tomorrow is my weekly dealer POC check in. Hoping to get a better date from them.
Question: For the guys that have recently taken delivery of their Rams, and had an ETA window, did your truck land at the dealer at the beginning, middle or end of the ETA window?
This morning's Ram Chat update:
Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle is in the shipping stage. Current Dealer ETA is 01/11/2022 - 01/25/2022.
So close I can tastes it. Off to run up the YouTube views. Now that we are all admitting we have the same problem, I don't feel...
Don't feel bad. I have a 2011 CTS-V Wagon with a 6.2 supercharged motor. It has a 16 gallon tank. Unless I drive like grandma, I literally get more miles between gas stops on my Harley than I do in it. I kid you not...
I guess it depends on how long you carry out the experiment. When the 23 gallon tank is empty, it will have to be refilled and will be carrying more weight, while the 33 gallon tank will have 10 gallons left and weigh less.
Kinda fun as a speculative exercise, but in the real world I suspect...
Make sure you drain a gallon out every 15-20 miles, or your data will be incorrect. 62 pounds is about half the weight of an average wife, and I doubt you'll see a gas mileage difference if you take your wife with you on a trip. Just my $0.02...
I was six days from BS to WS. With the holidays, the virus, weather and everything else going it seems pretty random right now.
Question: I see a lot of guys like you with multiple orders. I had to put $1000 down, and it's non-refundable. How are folks ordering multiple trucks? Are you guys...
Thanks Fellas, appreciate it! @bigdodge, the last time I talked my guy at the dealership he said I should get an EAT right after the 1st. I'm guessing he's waiting for that document to populate.
Today's cryptic answer from Ram Chat:
Do y'all suppose this means it's on a train car or truck somewhere? My contact at the dealership is out until Tuesday, and as much as I've been blowing up their phone, I don't want to start over with someone else there...
I had my BS before it left for the body vender. Took some time after it came back to get the WS though. Another member here, Veneo, got his BS the same day I did, and his WS the next day, and he had body vender stuff to instal too. It seems pretty random...
Good stuff right there, thanks for posting that! I was second guessing the Mopar spray in liner and thinking I should have had it done local by Line-X or Rhino Liner. After watching that video, I'm glad I went with the factory spray in liner...
My dealer told me they are having problems getting truck drivers, worker shortage and all that. He said it's a crap shoot when they get a semi in loaded with trucks, and with the weather and holidays he expects it to get worse before it gets better. Ram Chat said my truck is "Waiting on...
I’m one of those people.
Dealer told me to expect a three to six month wait, and I was good with that. Much to my surprise, my truck is done and waiting on a rail car a month later. No one was more surprised than I.
I feel for y’all that placed your orders sometime last summer, especially if...
