I'll be interested to see if some of these make the jump to the HDs. My lease is up next fall, but due to my use case changing, I'm likely going to be on the market for a HD instead of another 1500. I like the idea of the HUD for sure!
Day job: program and product manager for tech/business modernization work in the federal government. Bounced all around for the last 16 years in the private sector and federal government (contractor and now as a fed).
Side hustles: swim coach for two teams, subscription bacon, swimming pool...
No pictures on my phone, but I've got a vz.24 and 91/30 that have sadly just been sitting in my safe for far too long. :(
Used to live in SC and would take them to the outdoor range half an hour from my house all the time and shoot dirt cheap surplus Soviet ammo. Since I moved up to the DC area...
I think it looks pretty good. I'm 100% brand agnostic and leased my 1500 over a F-150 purely because the Longhorn interior is gorgeous.
Honestly, I'll check out the F-150 and compare it against the 1500 when my lease is up next fall, which would hopefully allow me to compare 2022 to 2022...
No problems with mine, it's just a bit overmatched by the sheer weight of my almost completely loaded Longhorn--the only two options I don't have are the 22s and/or the ORG.
As you can see from my sig, my fuel economy isn't great. My subdivision is on a main road with a routine speed of...
I'd say it's most likely the weight and the gear ratio you have, though I'm not ruling out a mechanical/software issue contributing to it. The DT is a porker, especially when you kit it out with all the bells and whistles. Your DS was most likely substantially lighter, as was the DT loaner...
Mine are all over the place. I'd say probably 75% of the time they lock at the right speed, other times I'll be near 40mph by the time they finally lock.
Awesome! I might take my truck in for this--I've had intermittent USB connectivity issues, randomly I'll plug my phone in for Android Auto and I'll have to plug/unplug it several times for it to register and the AA icon to show up. It's not consistent, I might go a week straight with no issues...
Entirely new hardware and software. Unless they make it fully modular and backwards compatible, I doubt it'll be compatible with any 4th gen Rams and it also likely won't be compatible with our current trucks.
Some more in depth info from The Verge...
On a side note, I remember at CES or one of the other big electronics shows several years ago, a few of the automotive electronic controls vendors were looking into making modular systems that could be entirely swapped out for upgrades. I haven't followed up on those announcements, but maybe...

It's all new hardware, so those of us with U4 systems won't be able to take advantage of the U5 updates.

I think it sounds like a great upgrade, I'll be interested to see if it removes the issues some folks have had with...
