My truck came from the dealer with the DEF gauge reading full and the salesman stated he personally filled it. I was skeptical about that claim, but he pointed down the street at their own fuel station, with a DEF pump.
First DEF re-fill:
2582 miles on the clock. Fuelly says my average...
You sure about that? On other (European) brands that used to have a discreet sensor for auto high beams, on variants that got the camera used for lane-keep assist and such, the camera is also used for the auto high beams.
Even if the sensor is still there and the same, it's possible that...
It would be good to know everyone's exact configuration to see if there's a pattern to which ones work well and which ones people aren't happy with.
My configuration that works well:
2021 Laramie Level 2 Equipment Group and Advanced Safety Group
Looking at the Build Configurator again, I...
I do not have larger tires, but I do have a 2021 EcoDiesel with 3.21 gears. The most annoying characteristic of this truck to me is that there's no way to lock it into a gear. My previous long-haul vehicle was a VW Touareg TDI, also a 3.0 V6 diesel with an 8 speed (Aisin) transmission...
Agreed. Water or other contaminants in the fuel will do bad things if they reach those expensive common-rail diesel injectors, or even the high pressure pump for that matter.
Not sure about the failure rate, but common-rail diesel injectors that operate at 20,000 psi or more are certainly more complicated and expensive to replace than the old-school gasoline port injectors used on a Hemi, that operate at under 100 psi. :)
Yes, it is strange. Mine (2021 Laramie) work darn near perfectly too. They see and respond properly to oncoming traffic as well as tail lights of traffic ahead, but are pretty much never fooled by traffic signs or other light sources.
On dark, twisty country roads I find it quite...
Posting here primarily because I want a dead pedal too. I love my '21 Laramie, but on long drives, I do miss the dead pedal that my other vehicles have always had.
Cool story, bro. But not helpful to those of us who like most everything else about our trucks and are just looking for a foot rest / dead pedal.
I'm hard pressed to believe that now, with DT trucks in their 3rd model year, the aftermarket hasn't come up with anything? I'd happily spend...
I've never had a truck before so I ordered the truck with the "accessories" I thought it should have to begin with.
Running Boards -- check.
Bed Utility Group & Bed Step-- check.
RAM Boxes -- check.
I like my RAM boxes just fine. Do they have perfect-looking "panel gaps"? No, they do not...
Does the "oil life monitor" do anything more than count to 10,000 miles?
I only have ~700 miles on my truck, but I've noticed that the oil life monitor drops 1% every 100 miles.
I know many European cars actually calculate soot and thermal loads based on how the vehicle is driven,
Ordered 8/24.
Arrived at my dealer in SE PA yesterday, so 10 weeks plus one day.
Picked up today.
I built that garage in 2003. I'm sure glad I spec'd 9' wide doors.
