It's funny you mention the 2500, because thats the truck I wanted, but couldn't swing it, so i settled for the next best thing. I tow a boat and trailer often, so I just prefer the most torque of the line.
I always buy the biggest engine and lowest gears offered in the truck im considering(if I can afford it). This method has never left me wanting more power.
Must be a regional thing, the lot I bought my truck from most were 3.92, its a no brainer for the extra 100 bucks. It will definitely hold 8th gear better on the highway.
I disagree with you on this, I have had many vehicles that I have put heavier 10 ply tires on, and the mileage on the highway at speed always went down.
You will be fine, just take it to a car wash and soap and rinse, they do this every day at the detail shops. Older fords were notorious for getting water in the plug holes, but thats another story.
Invisible glass, spray away are good brands, a tint guy once told me to stay away from ammonia based window cleaners(like windex), could possibly damage tint. jfyi
I just use Nav and play the radio on my 12 inch, I haven't missed the 8.4 in my 17 at all. The only issue I ever had is where it wouldn't save the presets, a couple of updates later and that is no longer an issue.
