That would be the best option. I debated back and forth on it for a while before ordering the BDS 4" kit. Then the wrong spacer/spring box came in so I ended up with the 6" BDS and kept it.
I haven't seen the spacer in person but it looks like maybe its a half inch or so. The updated Mopar kit with ORP front springs gives 3-3.5" of lift just like the Readylift does. You don't want to go any higher than that without a differential drop. If you use Bilteins, you can set them to 2" of...
The only spacer is a 2” rear spacer. The Mopar kit uses Fox struts in the front to raise the truck. The updated kit uses a small spacer underneath the spring seat to help lessen the rake. It is compatible with the off-road package, you will just have a little more rake, unless you use a...
Bilstein 5100s. You will reuse your ORP spring. You can set it to give you just over 2” of lift(3” if you include the lift from the ORP). Should give plenty of clearance depending on what wheels and offset you go with. You could always add a spacer to the rear if you wanted some rake back.
You’ll need factory UCAs. I installed the BDS 6” kit after having the Readylift level and control arms. The ball joint angle with the Readylift arms was terrible. I brought the shop my stock ones and they swapped them back out for me. The angle for the 4” kit will be even worse.
Appreciate it. The Mopar lift is nice. A little overpriced for what it is, but it keeps warranty intact and the Fox shocks are top notch. I actually ordered the Mopar lift first with ORP front springs only to be told there were parts missing and the dealer didn’t know how quick they could get...
I've got 35s with 3.21s. There is some power loss but there is still plenty of power left. It does gear hunt a little bit on the highway. I will say that I do have a Pedal Commander and it makes a huge difference. My mpg did take a hit though. I average 12-13 but I have a lead foot. On the...
Sounds like a good setup. Readylift UCAs are top notch and much better than the Mopar for your amount of lift. I would recommend the Hellwig sway bar as it makes a huge difference, even when keeping everything stock. Much bigger difference when lifted.
No warranty issues. I remove it if I have to take it to the dealer. Takes all of two minutes. It does not calibrate the speedo. All it does is adjust the throttle response. These trucks have terrible pedal lag, even with everything stock from the factory. I would imagine it worsens with the 35s...
Nah. It does gear hunt a little bit but it isn't terrible. Plenty of power still. Probably helps that I have a Pedal Commander but I have no issues with it.
Appreciate it. 6” is up there. I actually ordered the 4” kit but the wrong one was sent and the shop installed it anyway. I was going to make them swap it out, but I love the ride height though it would look better with 37s.
And yeah, that’s my wife’s Grand Cherokee next to it.
BDS has a lifetime warranty with their products so I wouldn’t worry there. If something goes out as a result of the lift they will cover it. Ride quality is pretty good. A bit stiff but that’s due to the tires more than the lift. Only thing I don’t like about the kit is if you don’t go for coil...
You don't need new UCAs because a true lift kit like BDS comes with new steering knuckles. These knuckles are larger and as a result keep the stock UCA in the exact same spot/angle/geometry as it was from the factory.
As far as your gears go you will be fine. I have 3.21 gears with the 6" BDS...
What do you mean by puck spacer? Is it a preload spacer that goes inside the strut assembly or a top hat spacer that goes on top? If it is a preload spacer then yes your ride quality will suffer. The best option now is the Bilstein 5100s as it replaces the factory strut. Rough Country also has...
I would definitely get an alignment done. That won't necessarily fix it but anytime you alter the suspension and change the height it needs to be done to ensure even tire wear. Most likely culprit is probably a wheel/tire out of balance.
I wouldn't go down to the 3.5" kit as it will ride very rough because of the preload spacer. You could patch together some pieces to make it a 4" and save your ride though. BDS is the only company with a 4" kit and all of the parts are the same except for the rear springs and shocks in the back...
Got it installed today. Only drive about 10 minutes with it so we will see how it does over the course of the week. It does add a little bit more sound to the Carven cat back. Throttle response might be a tad better, but I have a Pedal Commander so that wasn’t an issue anyway. I could notice a...
I don't have any pictures as I don't have the Mopar lift. You are looking in the right area. Just underneath where the spring is seated, and a little above where the X in FOX is, you would be able to see a black ring spacer that is intended to give another .5" to .75" of lift to help lessen the...
