Nope. It comes off very easily.

They come off so easy that you probably don’t even need the tool. Just pry it from one of the corners and it will pop right off. However, as previously stated, the one on the tailgate is another story!

So far, so good. They seem to perform very well. They’re also quieter then the stock brakes. My stock brakes tended to squeal intermittently, and also had the “moan” in reverse especially when cold.

I am hoping to get 50k miles out of them and then I’m trading my truck in.

I understand but it just doesn’t sound right that you would have to replace brakes every year. Doesn’t sound like much of an “upgrade” to me. Lol!

They get very gross. I’ve changed mine twice already. Definitely change it. They cost like $30.

There is nothing I prefer on a 4th Gen over a 5th Gen. The dealer gave me a 1500 Classic as a loaner when I had the A/C TSB performed and I could not wait to get my truck back. I hated driving that thing.

I had Katzkins installed on my truck, however they cost WAY more than $1200.. LOL..but it’s because I went with a custom design, heated with piping, etc. I’ve had them on for a little over a year now and they have held up really well so far.

I brought my truck in once before the TSB came out and they said it was “operating as expected”. Once the TSB came out, I printed it out and showed the SA, and they performed it no questions asked and it made a huge difference.
