This probably doesn’t help you much but I put 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers on my stock Longhorn wheels. They fill up the wheel wells pretty Well and the ride is still good and the increased read noise was very minimal. My truck is neither leveled nor lifted. I do have a bit of rub on full lock...
Good looking truck. I like the blue and your tires fill up the wheel wells really well. These trucks are so big, I think they look better with larger tires. But that’s just me. And I did lose about 1 to 1.5 MPGs with the Ridge Grapplers.
I’ve got 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers on my truck. They fill up the wheel wells and I like them. Increased road noise was not very noticeable and I think they ride better than the stock tires. My truck is not leveled or lifted and there is a slight rub on full lock turns, like when you’re...
Kinda late to this thread but I put 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers on my truck which is not lifted or leveled. I like the tires a lot. There is bit of a rub on full lock turns but it’s not bad. And I could eliminate it by trimming a bit off of the plastic wheel liners.
I see you set the sway bar on the middle setting. How do you like it? Can you tell much difference from the stock sway bar? I just ordered the Hellwig and I’m thinking of using the middle setting which seems to be what most folks are using.
Been reading all the positive comments by the Hellwig sway bar. So I pulled the trigger and ordered one today. The install looks to be about an hour project.
I’m not sure. But if you like the 285/60/20s, I wouldn’t worry about the rubbing. Again, it’s only during full lock turns like when you’re backing out of a parking spot. And you can eliminate the rub by trimming or heating up the plastic wheel liner where it it rubs. I’ve just been to lazy...
I’m running 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers on my stock Longhorn with no lift or level. Slight rub up front on full lock turns but not that bad. I probably should trim the plastic liners in the wheel well but the rub really doesn’t bother me. I really like the tires.
You might want to consider clamping off the heater hose or installing a shut off valve that a lot of us have done. Just clamped mine off for this summer and it makes the AC at least tolerable here in Central Texas.
I checked the hose when I took the clamp off last fall and when I put it on a few days ago. I could not see any damage. Installing a valve is probably the safest way to go. But clamping it off for 4 or 5 months doesn’t seem to be damaging it.
I clamped my hose off last summer and recently clamped it off for this summer, as it‘s starting to get hot in Central Texas. I usually run the fan on the 2 - 4 setting with the temp set all the way to lo and the recirculate turned on. I adjust everything with the fan settings and don’t use the...
From BR originally. Been in Central Texas for 25 years. My b-in-law and sister have a fishing camp down at Cocodrie that I frequent. Reds and specks.
Geaux Tigers!
I haven’t leveled or lifted my Ram and I don’t intend to. But I did swap the stock tires for 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers for a more beefy look. The ride didn’t really change and just a little bit of increased road noise which isn’t bad at all. But I did lose about 1 to 1.5 MPG. But I like the...
Sorry I can’t answer your questions, AtlasRam1500. I have a 19 Longhorn that doesn't have air suspension. I put 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers on the stock 20 inch wheels and I like them. The ride is just a smooth as stock, very little increased road noise, but I did lose about 1 mpg.
I agree about Discount Tires. I’ve bought several sets thru the years from the Discount Tire close to my house.
When I went in to get 285/60/20 Ridge Grapplers for my new Ram, I had about 500 miles on the stock tires. I asked if they could give me an allowance for the “used” stock tires, as...
