It is just not very common to put that much down into a lease. After it's over, you have nothing except maybe some positive equity when you trade it on another one. I did not look close at the truck you are buying, but I would consider purchase instead of leasing with that much down.
The main reason I went from a Laramie to a Limited was the comfort of the air suspension and the seats which were much more comfortable than my 2019 Laramie.
You can always find work in I&C....People don't realize how much older equipment there is in Nuclear plants. At least at Susquehanna, where I worked. Old technology was neat to work on. We just started getting into the more modern stuff the last 10 years or so that I worked there.
Mine were so loose that pushing the truck forward and back while it was in park was enough to see movement of the control arms in the front brackets. If changing direction causes the noise, I would still look in that area.
Retired, but I was also an I&C Technician, but in Commercial Nuclear Power. Had a 33 year career there at one Nuclear Plant, was lucky enough to retire early.
i found it by rocking the truck back and forth from underneath. I could see the control arm walking in relation to the drop down bracket. Those bolts are big, the torque spec would be quite high. When I found them loose I tightened them myself pretty tight.
I had the same exact issue with my 2019 a few months after I bought it. The rear control arm bolts were loose. Dealer had to replace the control arms also because the holes enlarged from driving with them loose. The dealer told me they had seen that problem a few times. I would open a Ram Cares...
Same thing happened to me. Went to the dealer for state inspection on my 2019 Laramie. Just killing time looking at a Limited they had, then drove it. Employee pricing talked me into it. But I didn't buy the one I test drove, I shopped around and bought one 2 hours away.
I had that issue on my 2019. There was a span of a few months where they did not install the seal between the cab and box. Result is more wind/road noise. There is a notice on it, and the dealer will install for free. It did help.
There was a tech notice about the sway bar nuts. On my 2019 mine they were tight, but I had a cracking noise when my driveline would change direction, as in acceleration then decelerating. Turned out the rear control arm bolts were loose. I tightened them, but the noise came back. Dealer had to...
There was, along with the employee pricing, a $1000 bonus cash offer on my limited on the dealer listing. The dealer checked and the $1500 pop up bonus cash also applied. Needless to say I was very happy to save that much. I wasn't even in the market for a new truck, but I went for it anyway.
Royal Chrysler in Owego, NY, but I dealt with 3 dealers in Eastern Pa who were comparable with the employee pricing. Royal happened to have the one I wanted on the lot, and gave me a good trade in. Smaller dealership, but great customer service which impressed me.
I just picked up my 2021 Limited yesterday. MSRP $62,635. I got $10,300 off. I live in PA also, but bought this across the line in NY. Happy with the deal, especially since the Limited wasn't loaded with options.
