I'm not bashing Ram because I do like my truck, but along with the week it was in the shop last year for ****-poor A/C performance where the temperature sensor, A/C compressor, and refrigerant was replaced with no change, today was the 2nd time it's going in due to being completely dead while...
So, today is the 2nd time my Limited has been completely dead. The 1st time I charged it for 6 hours and it started, but the dealer could find no problem. Today, it's completely dead again and back on the charger. Ridiculous.
My point is that some apparently work as-intended, and many (mine included) are either crap or need a hack installed to function comfortably. That shows an inconistent build quality that shouldn't have taken since the fall of '18 to address by Ram.
Sadly, although Ram stated a fix is in the works, I'd be extremely surprised if anything ever comes of it. The longer they let the issue drag on and owners do their own hack to remedy it, the less apt Ram is to throw $$ at a repair.
I just had my '19 Limited aligned and tires balanced with 13k miles due to a wobble hop at 70+ mph. Although inexplicably the alignment was off with nothing but highway miles, the wobble hop still remains. Has anyone rectified it, and if so, how?
100% correct, and when the repairs were done at the end of last summer, Ram closed the STAR case until I could replicate the issue for the dealer, but since hot weather was over in PA by then (and since I know they have no legitimate fix), I've used the Harbor Freight clamp this year. Ridiculous.
Prior to being repaired, it would blow 64 - 68 degrees in 90+ weather. After the repairs, it now blows 58, which as I mentioned, is sub-par not only for Ram's elevated specs but for any vehicle I've owned. Until Ram acknowledges a system flaw, repeated dealer visits are futile.
Hold the phone. On my $63k Limited, both Ram and my dealer agreed there was a problem. The compressor, temperature sensor, and refrigerant were all swapped, but the A/C is still sub-par. I've literally had 100+ vehicles over the years, and I've never had an A/C issue that wasn't remedied from a...
Apparently, there are issues with consistent build quality. My '19's A/C was blowing between 64-68 degrees on the lowest setting during 90+ degree days last summer and both Ram and the dealer verified there was a problem. The compressor, temperature sensor, and refrigerant were all changed...
My '19 was blowing 64 - 68 degrees on the coldest setting during last summer's 95 degree weather. Ram opened a case and then raised it to a STAR case with the dealer. Both the dealer and RAM verified there was a problem, and the temp. sensor, a/c compressor, and refrigerant were replaced with...
What will be ridiculous is if FCA drags their feet on a fix until many owners install the hack and then say they won't cover eventual recall repairs because the system was altered.
My '19 Limited was blowing between 68-72 degrees last summer during the 90 degree days. Opened a Ram case, and the dealer opened a Star case. Both agreed there was something wron, and the compressor, temp. sensor, and refrigerant were all replaced. Guess what happened on the 20 minute ride...
So installing an $8 hose clamp on a $65k truck as a fix when the manufacturer won't remedy or acknowledge an issue, is like saying "although the driver's door won't stay closed at 60 mph+, a strip of duct tape will take care of your concern. " Enjoy your truck and let FCA slide.
If a $65k truck doesn't have its amenities properly operating when it's sold to consumers by the manufacturer, and that manufacturer is aware of problems but chooses to do nothing, an owner should't have to jerry-rig something to have it operate as it should have from day one. Regardless of...
My '19 Limited was in the shop for over a week with both Ram and the dealer confirming there was an issue. My compressor, temp. sensor, and refrigerant were replaced with no noticeable difference. It'll be returning for a follow up once the weather warms, but having to buy an $8 hose clamp as...
