It makes sense that someone put some snake oil in that killed the injectors - especially if they rusted shut.
That being said, if you ever get a repeat misfire code (i.e. cyl 6 is bad, even though you already replaced that injector), I would take a look at the crank sensor. The ECU determines...
If the knock occurs outside of a given window, the ECU won't do squat. The manual specifically mentions that pinging may occur with lower octane fuels, implying it's expected behavior.
For folks having issues with pinging even at 89 octane, I'm curious if you let the engine idle a lot - it's...
Like it or not, that's how it works. You don't get to postulate alternatives just because it's not what you originally had in your mind.
This article is on GM's implementation, but the physics - and notion of ECU's shooting for a targeted load rather than throttle position - is the same...
This isn't actually true - when you switch to MDS, those 4 cylinders will run at higher load. That load transition is why there's a "bump" - you're switching from 8 cylinders putting along to 4 running almost as hard as they can
If you think about it, a V8 running at 30% load can't just switch...
How long do you let your engine idle? If you're one of those who lets the truck idle to warm up on a daily basis - stop doing that. There's actually a warning in the manual about how it creates carbon buildup, etc.
Definitely check out the tank hose that Dusty mentioned, but if it slowly just...
Just a heads up, you're going to be in the minority. Your best option is going to be managing your right foot, but you might also reach out to Range Technology - their product was actually designed to use MDS more often to make the vehicle more efficient, but it turned out most folks just wanted...
Did you have a check engine light or anything? This doesn't sound like an issue...
The whole point of tow mode is to keep the transmission from shifting too much and overheating. If you're pulling 70% of the truck's capacity, in tow mode, foot on the gas, yeah I don't expect it would shift...
You're a clown - you know that, right? Like a virgin having an opinion on the best sex position, and telling their experienced friends all about his inexperienced opinion. I've owned my truck for about a year, and eTorque has already paid for itself with my stop and go commute. Don't knock it...
Wow, cool. A guy who didn't want to buy eTorque - and didn't end up buying an eTorque truck - still doesn't think people should buy eTorque.
Crazy how zero first-hand experience resulted in the same opinion. 🤯
PS - I love how the guy who bought a diesel with a high pressure EGR, new low...
Stock or MOPAR. Aftermarket intakes are just noise, and don't do squat for power. It's great to have the sound of bald eagles exploding when you go on an on-ramp, but any time you're hauling stuff for a long time it gets annoying.
You assume *any* tow truck driver knows how to do anything but drag a vehicle...
OP, are you sure it's coming from the diff? There's lots of threads about steering noise that end up related to the rack. I would see if you can recreate the issue- they might have tweaked something in the rack...
Your alignment was off? Was the vehicle in some sort of accident during shipping? I would have it checked out to make sure nothing is bent, etc. - alignment on a brand new vehicle doesn't smell right at all.
I mean, there's a guy on another page who swears his TB spacer is the best thing he's ever done.. even though an independent dyno shows that spacer reduces power output.
Again, it's subjective opinion with no actual data. I'm not saying you're not allowed to enjoy vanilla, I'm saying no one has...
I mean seriously, the most common reason I've seen is "I just want my engine to run as a V8 100% of the time"
I've also heard that with an aftermarket exhaust the MDS exhaust sound is less than desirable, which makes sense.
No, I'm saying that folks specifically looking to disable efficiency features to make it a full-time V8 are ultimately doing it because they feel like it, not because it's a logical decision. Trying to apply logic is just going to create a 7 page thread of folks who won't change their mind...
Lighten up - all I'm saying is that folks hating on MDS and Start Stop are doing so purely out of emotion/ opinion. That's totally fine, but trying to apply logic to it like the OP of this thread is just pointless, because the decision has nothing to do with math or logic.
