Right. I heard some commentators mock the choice of the 3.6 for the generator but it’s a proven, reliable mill. I think it makes more sense than a hurricane.
Hopefully FCA’s experience with Jeep hybrids will help them nail it the first time. I’d love for this to be a hit.
I remember GM had 6lug gmt400’s with 2500 badges. And Ford had mid/late 90’s f250’s that looked like f150’s with seven lugs for a while. Weird.
I think the 32 lugs on the new Ramcharger are a reference to the number of hours per week that the UAW wants to work under their new contract.
I think the styling is superb, and the engineering is probably pretty amazing, but it is FCA build quality that concerns me. I want it to work, but the cost will be something to see as well.
Is "orange peel" paint standard, or a low-drag "golf ball dimple" finish option?
Here is a picture of the RF hub under the vent.
There is one under the center console as well.
I may cover mine in the future to prevent any water intrusion as a fail safe backup.
One POS dealer told me that I do not qualify for the warranty extension and another said that I do, and I have an appointment in two weeks to get the window replaced. I‘ve successfully sealed my cracked window with silicone(almost two years back in post #70) and am wondering if its even worth...
I speak from experience and can say shorties are a disaster and waste of money and time with no performance or efficiency gains towing or daily driving. They only change the tone of the Hemi’s voice and leak exhaust fumes.
I've been running the XG2 oil filter for years and do not see that PSI at cold start. Maybe mid 50s with 5w-30 Penzoil Ultra Platinum. Warm idle psi is upper 20's.
I installed new oem manifolds yesterday and removed the second set of shorties that I had on my truck after my original manifolds cracked and the dealer denied there was an issue. The shorties all cracked and warped too. The last pair that I just removed(AFE) was jet hot ceramic coated(which...
So I got one of my manifolds in today at the dealer. When I opened the box for the manifold kit that had the “AB” series part number I noticed that the casting is still an “AA”.
I checked the flange side of the casting and it is machined flat. No warp.
I got some good news today. My manifolds should arrive next week after getting expedited by my local dealer.
I will check the flanges to make certain that they are true/flat at the face before I bolt them to the heads. If they are warped I will report back and get them decked.
Check out this...
I tried to place an order for new manifolds last night. I received a response that my estimated wait time is 21 weeks.
My AFE headers (set no. 2) have now failed at the welds again. I’m thinking their material is too thin given the nature of the forces on these manifolds/headers. The steel...
Frustrating start to a relationship with your new rig, but even with these minor and temporary flaws it’s still the best truck in its class. I recently had to accept a company truck as my daily driver. 2018 f150 platinum. Every time I get back into my Ram I am amazed at how much nicer it is than...
I love ‘em. I still have the sub disconnected and that’s just fine for 90% of the time. These speakers blow away the OEM speakers. I wish CTD would make a woofer to swap out the sub in these trucks.
I may swap out the speakers in my wife’s Grand Cherokee with CTDs as a birthday present.
People run bare stainless headers on the Hemi without heat shields. On my ceramic coated shorties I don’t have heat shields(besides the tabs on the gaskets) and don’t see any issues with the other items in the engine compartment.
I spoke with an independent shop owner the other day that has replaced many cast iron manifolds from different manufacturers. He was well aware of our struggle and he recommended NOT installing the heat shield. Apparently the Ford 460’s in RV applications would commonly smoke their manifolds...
