Be sure to heat them up and place something against them until they cool. For some reason, they want to return to their original shape, but a 2x4 to apply pressure until cool will make them reshape, and stay put.
I was a Chevy guy most of my life, but their redesign in 2019 was hideous to me so I started looking elsewhere. They also dropped all of their car lineup, except the difficult to get in/out of and see out Camaro or the Corvette. I feel GM has let down their fan base with their push to SUVs...
Again, thanks for the information on the MX+, but it still doesn't tell me if what I own will work.
Since I'm not getting the answer I need, I guess I'll start by purchasing the security bypass cable and AlphaOBD. I wasn't going to purchase the app until I knew what I needed, but....
Thanks for the info. I already understand what AlphaOBD can do for me and how I can break things. What I didn't know is if I need to buy a new OBD adaptor, which is what I still don't know. That's why I have multiple already as nobody knew if the other one I had would work, so I ended up...
I have a couple questions about OBD connectors that work with AlphaOBD. I already have a couple, but they are older devices, so the current list doesn't make mention of them.
I have a bbfly bluetooth Diagnostic interface that has a switch for MS-CAN and HS-CAN. I bought this in 2018 for my...
Can you elaborate? I was talking with 4 wheel parts in Orlando a week ago in an effort to have them inspect my truck. If you can let us know what part of the LCA is the issue, that'd be great. It's either the bushings or the ball joint, so....
I don't think the adjustment to the 5100 will do anything as the factory 4600 was 2" lower than the 5100, but the clunk was there. So if it is the shocks, the only way to really know is to ask those that had a clunk and lost it due to Fox or other brands replacing the Bilsteins.
I haven't done...
I was reading on either the 2500 or the TRX site that they are also experiencing this clunk on the front end when coming off curbs, or off roading, etc. They mentioned the body mounts as a fix fopr some of their trucks while others mentioned that the issue is with the front Bilstein shocks...
2021 Rebel with 8 speed trans and I have the same issue. When slowing to a stop sign, the trans shifts down to 3rd and hangs. If I apply throttle, the trans slams into 2nd or 1st based on speed. The truck shouldn't still be in 3rd or 4th gear at 5mph, but mine is.
Ok, I just installed the new Energy Suspension sway bar bushings tonight. While under the truck, I verified the tie rods are tight, the SuspensionMaxx sway bar end links on top and bottom were tight, the brake caliper bolts were tight, the lower shock mount bolts are tight and the front body...
Had similar issue on my 2006 Silverado. It was the drive shaft u joint. They replaced it with a new nickel one that addressed the issue and it never happened again. I wonder if the play in the yoke is causing this clunk.
Maybe this weekend I'll disconnect the endlinks altogether and see if the clunk is still there. If so, maybe the sway bar is hitting something when the truck articulates some.
I should state that I also had the driver side axle replaced due to the CV boot leaking. This was done when the alignment was done, so I should go back and verify torque settings on all components.
I've also been researching this and found a few possibilities. I haven't done these yet, but...
Like many here, I've had a clunk in the front end when going over a speed bump with the wheel turned slightly from center. I didn't worry about it too much before because I ordered the SuspensionMaxx sway bar endlinks. I leveled my truck with Bilstein 5100s, added the sway bar endlinks and...
I'm pretty sure my truck was even from side to side until I got an alignment done. I remember measuring front and rear after doing the Bilstein 5100 install and I was even front to rear and side to side. Now my truck is leaning 1/2" lower on the driver side.
Can caster adjustments cause this...
The bead locks are the same specs. Mine are from the Ignition Edition, so they aren't full black, which I'm not really a fan of, and they aren't full silver, which doesn't fit the look of my truck. If I find bead locks, I may grab a set, but I like the ones I have without paying for custom...
The 1st picture is with factory Rebel tires on TRX wheels with no spacers. This is the distance on the UCA. It's closer than I like.
The 2nd pic is of the tire poke. It's not bad at all as the tread is still behind the mudflap, so i don't get trash or mud all over the side of the truck.
