If what we were told in training a couple years ago, they were working on a direct injected hemi replacement. Not sure how far along they got with that.
That doesn't change the fact that your thought of "It's all about the money, if the truck brakes the trailer brakes", there is definitely an advantage to have the factory option installed.

The build sheet concern, fuel economy, and other glitches are all separate issues. You would need to start a lemon law process.
I have seen where the DTCM becomes frozen/locked up/brain dead. With a scan tool o can just perform an ECU reset and it will start working again. You could try performing a battery disconnect and see if thay helps.
MSRP can change, happens all the time. The manufacturer sends new window stickers to the dealer. I recall about a year ago the sales manager had stack of new window stickers from Stellantis on his desk
