Not sure what you are hearing (I've never heard that) but it is a closed system, but I do recall that it shows an intake near the compressor. If it released into the atmosphere you'd wind up with no air suspension after a while unless it can pull in fresh air. Maybe that's what you are hearing...
I get what you're saying and looking for, but no I haven't taken any temp readings post-TSB as it is so obviously fixed (and working well). I completely stand by my statement that if Ram had shipped the trucks with this level of AC, we'd all have been talking about something completely different...
Awesome. I was at lunch two days ago and the truck sat in 95 degree sun for an hour. Got back in and had just pulled out of the parking lot when that "bite" of ice cold air hit my arm. I was shocked again as it's never done that in the prior three years. I'm totally satisfied with the AC now and...
No, didn't take any pics, but this site shows almost exactly the same thing: https://www.dieselplace.com/threads/lube-splines-in-rear-drive-shaft-slip-yoke-to-fix-clunk.51652/
The last pic shows the splined output shaft of the transmission/transfer case and ours looks the same. It's basically...
If you are thinking maybe the Grapplers, then definitely check out the brand new Recon Grappler. Supposed to be better for more on-road use. I have no opinion on them, just wanted you to be aware before you buy.
Learned something new from UConnect Sr Support today. They are replacing my radio as the GPS and vehicle cell are both toast but on the question of "am I up to date?" he blew off the software version and was only concerned with the Application version. I was concerned that I was way behind as my...
So after two dealer visits (already there for AC TSB), and both times they said all the HW checks out as fine, UConnect bumped me up to sr support. He had me check the Connectivity section of the dealer menu (hold down two lower soft buttons for a few seconds) and read off the MSISDN info. When...
I've had the cheap Advance Auto valve on mine for two years and it's been awesome. I just had the AC TSB done and it's made almost as much difference. That combined with the cheap valve now leaking has me planning on completely removing the valve tomorrow.
Prior to the valve, I'd notice at...
I've had a "release" in mine for almost three years. Clearly not as bad as some here as it wasn't a clunk, but since I have ETorque and the extra sensation of engine braking it's been hard to nail down. Had it in the dealer once only to be told "they all do that." Well I've now twice had loaners...
Another observation.
I had installed the heater core bypass valve two years ago and it's awesome. Before that I had noticed that when stopped at a light, when my engine shutoff (ETorque) the vent temp quickly got warmer until it was uncomfortable and the engine would restart to cool again...
Just got back with the truck and here are a few observations:
Is it a drastic difference? No, but it is noticeably better. I didn't have a thermometer with me but over the 45 min drive home in 97 degree weather, it blows colder. It's the first time I've ever had this truck have any "bite"...
I second the ceramic tint on the windshield! It blocks UV (keeps dash from fading) and IR (heat). It's amazing when you are driving in full sun with it shining on your hands on the wheel. You suddenly realize you see the sunlight but don't feel the Texas heat baking on your hands!
Also keeps...
