This was one of the biggest pain in the butt projects I have ever done. I wouldn’t risk messing it up. I’m also a perfectionist and I think the only way to truly get this perfect is to remove calipers and do on a bench. But that’s another whole level.
What I did was pull and hang calipers but...
You’d most likely lose the hub centric-ness if you did a 1/2” spacer and might not have enough thread engagement. Better off going with a 1”-1.25” hub centric spacer. You’d need at least that so the studs will fit in the stock wheel pockets.
I have always been a big fan of five tire rotation. Bought a single extra rebel wheel on eBay. Got a good deal. They have all the trims. I would check there. To me the 5 tire is nice because you have a matching and equally worn spare if you get a flat and the total set lasts longer. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks.
Yes I did not install the rear springs so height did not change.
Yes 1" in front without spacer.
Plus if you find a rebel take off you get the better bilstein struts/shocks.
Check out my post. I used the rebel suspension to level my truck. https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/leveled-laramie-with-rebel-suspension.35295/
It could. This isn’t supposed to be a hardcore off-road bumper. Just protection for road debris for those who have removed the air dam.
see above this is for those who have removed the air dam.
Just found this issue on my truck. Swapped the arms and no more rubbing. Definitely disappointed at FCA (again). But touched up hood and good now. Glad the bare metal was underneath and you can’t really see the touch up.
props to this forum. Always find answers to my questions.
I have a non-ORP Laramie. Got full rebel take off suspension minus the rear springs. Bilstein coil overs plus remote resi bilstein shocks in the rear. Also added 1/2” spacer on front for a perfect 1.5” level.
Just finished installing rebel suspension minus the rear springs to level my Laramie. Also added 1/2” spacers to the front for a 1.5” level. Really happy with the result and ride quality of the Bilsteins. Good budget way to level and get bilsteins.
Do you have the weather beater or the x-act contour ones?
I went with the x-act contour ones because they are more rubbery and taller grooves so I don't have any slickness issues.
The weather beater ones are harder more plastic like with lower grooves and definitely prone to be more slick.
I have stock non-orp suspension and rebel takeoffs. When I first put them on I had a rub in reverse at full lock. The plastic inner fender was warped from the factory and that was the problem. 5 minutes and a heat gun solved the problem. My guess (especially since you are lifted) is you have a...
