Yep, that looks about right for winter driving. My SUV isn't much better, I have to wipe the camera off regularly in winter or I'm looking through snow/salt/whatever sticks to the back of my car in nasty weather.
Sounds like you'll have enough room to walk in front of or behind your truck with the door shut and that's about it. Our door is 7' tall but the cased opening is a bit shorter. I'd confirm they aren't clipping the corners when finishing out the garage door. I'd also keep a close eye on clearance...
Many thanks for the advice. I just ordered the Blizzak DMV2 for the our other new vehicle and have feelers out for the Nokian's in 18's for the Ram. I just found a set of wheels (with TPMS and tires) locally and, although they're not cheap, I'd much prefer to go down to those rather than run 20"...
I've been stalking a set of take-off 18's since I ordered the truck in April and have yet to come across any locally, unfortunately. I've searched out up to about 200 miles and the best I've found is around $750 (without TPMS) and a heck of a long drive for them.
As far as tires, I've run...
I'm running into an issue finding 18" takeoffs for winter wheels. I've got 20" tires and am debating just giving up and putting snow tires on those instead. I don't know a whole lot about tires so I'm looking for some help with this idea. Thoughts on whether it would be reasonable to do, and...
Aaron was the one I dealt with when I texted or emailed, but he did have someone else work up my quote. A different person did the walk-through of the vehicle when we picked it up, but we met Aaron and chatted a bit before heading out.
I also realized I should mention that the reason MD...
They did not charge LA sales tax. It looks like they work with a third party here in NYS who does the DMV paperwork and processes the sales tax for them. I received my registration and license plate directly from the DMV with no hiccups at all. I was very worried about the process but it worked...
I'm laughing at dealer formalities - MD was the absolute best for keeping that kind of BS to a minimum (in fact, it was pretty much non-existent). I don't think we were there more than 30 minutes total, and most of that was someone showing us the features and helping us connect phones, etc. If...
Whoa, seriously? I hadn't been following much since my truck came in. It's pretty close to the twin of yours, but with 33gal tank and without the eTorque, Anti-spin, or Uconnect (same color, cab, bed length, etc.). Picked it up at the end of July, ordered one day before you.
The good news is...
Agree about the lack of sizes. For my old truck with 20's I minus sized down to a 17" with a much taller, narrower profile. I've been searching the 18's and am not finding much selection for sizes there, I'm a little concerned.
For what it's worth, I won't do studded here - too noisy and...
Oh believe me I know lol been using them for decades, I have steered clear of Blizzak for that very reason since the full tread depth isn't the softer compound (or at least it wasn't the last time I shopped snows three years ago).
Historically I have gotten a solid four seasons out of the last...
Yeah, we get around 10 feet of snow a year here on average and I've run Nokian's on my last five vehicles at this point, everything from a set of WRG3 SUV's to a whole bunch of Hakka's (original R's up to R3's). The only thing I found was that the Hakka seemed to wear very quickly on my old Ram...
Hmm...definitely not as beefy looking which is disappointing. I hate the chrome lugs on black wheels though, so I guess I'll give them a go. Thank you for responding and for the image.
I need to start shopping winter tires and wanted some feedback about running 20's versus finding a set of 18" take-offs and putting those on. It's a '21 Bighorn night edition and I am reluctantly resigned to chrome/silver wheels for winter I guess, since I can't find anything dark in 18's within...
Curious to hear your thoughts on the lugs when you get them on. I ordered them but I am not sure they will fill up the space like the OEM chrome ones, and a little concerned about the seating surface. Won't know until I've got them in hand and thinking you might already have yours to give some...
Purchased my plan just now and was pleasantly surprised at the cost compare to what I was offered by the dealership. I kept re-reading to confirm it was the right thing. Thanks to all who made this info so readily available on the forums.
Either that or buy GAP insurance and keep the vehicle for the term of the loan, one or the other.
I am buying two vehicles in the next week and neither deal is anywhere near MSRP. The non-Ram one is at invoice which is about 4.5% off MSRP and while typical historical discounts for that...
