If it helps for newer people to hear this. I had it happen 1 time @ < 75 miles the day after I picked up the truck. Never since. In this thread it seems like a lot of folks had it happen at very low mileage. I'm at nearly 5K miles now and I still try to put it into drive first all the time...
If it makes you feel any better, I had it happen once when I had 55 miles on the truck. That was the only time. I have 4K on it now. Why did it happen, who knows, perhaps a little bit of break in and somewhat related to the issue itself (when worse). When I bring it in for the recall I'm...
Agreed. I'm a pretty calm and reasonable guy but if they told me I had to use my AAA to take a new truck from the dealer's lot to their building..... on the same property..... it would have been ugly.
I'm going to guess they didn't get into it but I would be interested if they gave you any insight into why this issue is more prevalent with some truck and not others. I had it happen when very very new so I know exactly what you are talking about but I has not happened again. I back up before...
Unfortunately many people are just operating in their own little silo and don't think outside of it or ask questions. I imagine this as some young FCA engineer and clueless dealer service advisor. Engineer thinking "cool I have a truck I can have experiments done on to solve my mirror...
My mirrors bump. I dont give a hoot. No way im leaving it in there that long without a loaner. Im with the guy before who said hed call the police if necessary. Its your property...end of story.
Oh and if its not street safe by their definition....then its a driveability issue. Cough up...
My Bighorn has been great so far. No real issues. A small mar in the paint on the hood....meh, minor. I don't have lot of the higher tier extras which may in a way help me avoid some of the grief others have experienced. I'm concerned with the shifter knob thing I read about but it only...
I looked on the build your Ram. They definitely have something glichy there. If you click on details for the BUG (BEFORE you add it) it shows the divider. Once you add it, if you click on details, its gone and only shows the rails and lights.
I went from stock 275/55/20 tires to the same size Ridge grapplers. I really like them. I do feel like I dropped about 1.5 mpg, mostly on the highway side. The truck was very new when I made the switch so my MPG info was limited but I can confidently say I dropped 1.5 or so. Road noise is a...
Same for me for the one time it happened. I noticed the earlier comment that it doesnt seem to happen if you first go to reverse. 90% of the time im backing out of a parking spot or my driveway as a first move. The time it happened i quick stopped to check something in the back seat....jumped...
When did it start happening ( miles)? I had it happen one time for sure @ <100 miles and not since. Im at 1500 miles and wondering if its a lroblem to come or if my solenoid just
stuck one time since it was new.
you are fine without them. I had a 2007 GMC sierra with mirrors that were smaller than my Ram mirrors (without th tow package). Towed boats to 20' all that time. no issues.
My truck is identical (looks wise) but I swapped out the stock tires. Come to the dark side and put on some Ridge Grapplers

To add a little humor. I have a no-sunroof policy that I have instituted prior to seeing any of this. My wife, aka the destroyer of nice things, has left sunroofs partially or completely open during multiple rain storms & T-storms. Her best effort was leaving the sunroof on my truck full...
The ride is fine....no difference there. I want to say it takes turns better but the truck is so new to me i cant say for sure. There is a little more noise....but barely. The truck was super quiet to begin with. Now there is a slight sound of the tires but that disappears above 45 mph as it...
