Curious problems in the first 200 miles

Likely so - and I'm not a fanboy for any make or marque, just a curious guy who got a bum Ram at Enterprise and wondered if it was growing pains for the 5th gen. We're due for our next rig in about two years, so we'll see what shakes out by then.

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

Not any of the new cars that I've ever owned - I'm thinking now it was either a cooking battery or a bum alternator.

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

Perhaps - but the smell had that distinctive cooked-brakes odor (without any of the brakes being hot - checked that first). Enterprise simply swaps you into another vehicle, so we might never know what the bogey was.

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

No clue at this point. Enterprise was quick to keep us on the road (wedding rehearsal dinner that night for a bridesmaid in our party) in the F150. As of today, Enterprise says the local Ram dealer picked it up to go over it, but they'd not heard back yet (that probably goes through Enterprise...

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

Troutspinner - More from a curiosity standpoint on my end. I've happily owned other Chrysler/FCA products - and Ford, and GM, and others - but to have such a bizarre failure in the first few hundred miles of a brand-new Ram seemed worth checking out, and this seemed the best place for it. I...

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

Hopefully not. Do you think we really wanted to be in a 15,000 mile Ford 150? Heck, it wasn't even a 4x4. The Ram itself looked fantastic, in and out, but the failure was just bizarre. Doubt the story? Just call the Rome, Georgia Enterprise location at (706) 290-1093 and ask them about the...

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

Nope, none of that here, unfortunately. The truck itself looked fantastic, in and out, but the failure was just bizarre. Doubt the story? Just call the Rome, Georgia Enterprise location at (706) 290-1093 and ask them about the white Ram quad cab that they exchanged on Friday, October 19, with...

Curious problems in the first 200 miles

So, just a bit curious as to something completely bizarre in a less than 200-mile vehicle. We flew into Atlanta for a wedding, and at Enterprise happened to get a brand-new to the fleet Ram 1500 quad cab with less than 200 miles and single every bell and whistle. We drove north to the hotel in...
