The v6 will be fine. Mine is plenty capable. Acceleration is very good and it hauls well with the higher payload. I even tow a 6400lb travel trailer with it! One suggestion, DO NOT get the 3.21 rear gear. I recommend the 3.92 and if you can’t get that then the 3.55. Makes all the difference since the v6 is light on torque and this is a heavy truck. Buy with confidence.
