Hi, I recently purchased a 2024 Ram 1500 Lone Star 4x4 that includes a button for the electronic rear differential lock. I checked the VIN through Ram and the dealership, and both indicate that the truck has the standard 3.21 rear axle ratio. There’s also a sticker on the rear axle showing 3.21.

However, from what I’ve read, the electronic locking differential is typically only available with the 3.92 axle ratio, often as part of a package that includes raised ride height and heavy-duty front and rear shocks.

So now I’m a bit confused—does my truck actually have the 3.21 axle ratio, or could it possibly be a 3.92?

My research indicates you can only get the factory equipped locker on the 3.92

I'm finding this answer in search, but I am also finding it is available on all the ratios... No clear answer.

Looks like any Rebel will be 3.92, and likely air ride vehicles will be 3.92, but off road group vehicles (ORG) without air ride and not Rebels might have the other ratios available.

The ultimate answer might come from blocking the front wheels, lifting the rear axle, getting the transfer case into neutral, and spinning a tire counting turns of driveshaft rotation. Three and a little, three and a half, or almost four.

Yes, the e-locker can come with 3.21 or 3.92 ratio. My 2021 Laramie has the off-road package and 3.21 gears. However I’m waiting on a kit from Yukon to switch over to 4.56 ratio.

I don't remember if it's the front or rear, but one of them can't be changed without and axle swap. Is yours is 2WD?
