Hello all I've been reading the threads regarding MGU failures and it seems most occur on the unit on the 5.7 hemi. Even the YouTube videos show a teardown/bearing replacement on the unit for the 5.7 hemi. Does the unit on the 3.6l engine suffer failures as much as the unit on the 5.7 hemi?

I haven't seen any numbers to confirm this, but the anecdotal evidence would suggest that the vast majority of failures are happening on the Hemi etorqe MGU.

If you do find some stats, you'll also have to be careful: I believe the numbers of 5.7L trucks sold over the years is at least double the number of 3.6L trucks (possibly even much higher, its hard to find exact numbers), so the 5.7 numbers of failures will probably also be higher. Best bet is to look at the ratio, vs pure numbers.

Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators are sold with the 3.6L and eTorque. The question then is the 3.6L eTorque unit in the Jeeps the same as the RAM?
