25 Ram keeps saying trailer connected and disconnected

I bought my 25 Ram 1500 Rebel at the beginning of December. I went to pull my boat for the first time the other day and kept getting notified that the trailer disconnected. Then reconnected again. Then disconnect again. Over and over again. I’ve attached a video here:

Any suggestions?

I also have a 25 Rebel and there is currently a recall from the manufacturer due to the trailer brake and signal controller malfunctioning. You may want to check with you dealer to see if your truck is affected as well...

My 25 will sometimes do this if the connection at the trailer plug is not 100% solid. Also had this happen when a bulb was burnt out on the trailer.

I’ll look into this. I know the connection was solid, and I saw both lights work, but it’s a sketchy old trailer so they could be a little shoddy

I had the same issue after car washes or snow or towing boat....
Trailer module recall has been done, gonna find out today when we go to the Mississippi river.

Check out this thread for more info on the recall and related issues. Several of us are seeing all sorts of error messages on the dash. You should definitely check your VIN for recalls on either NHTSA or the ram owners website.

I’m waiting for my dealer to get parts. They won’t even schedule me at this point.

No "check trailer connection" message during the 30 minute tow to the Mississippi river and not towing since the installation of the new module. Now for a car wash-that was a another trigger.
