Map not loading in instrument panel in front of steering column

2024 Ram TRX navigation not loading in the digital instrument cluster. This started about two months ago and yes you can switch between themes that will force it to appear but after the truck sits for 15 minutes it goes away. This is what my dealership has done so far. 1, replaced the digital instrument cluster with no fix. 2, replaced the uconnect 5 nav radio with no fix. They opened a STAR case with nothing and now advised they need my truck for a few days and plan on having an agent sent out to assist with the issue. Will keep everyone updated on what they fine.

Update : get car back from dealer, no surprise. They can not do anything, ask to wait for next soft update.

This morning and afternoon when I turn the truck off an update notification comes up on the screen. So far I’ve clicked Update Later. Eventually they’ll force it through. I hope it’s a bug fix.

Have had this same issue in a '24 limited. Is there any point in taking to the dealer or just wait for a software fix "hopefully" to come through?

So there has been an update that came out…for me anyway…. Since the major update that caused this issue for all of us. It was a 5 minute update that appears to have done nothing and I still have the issue of the map still not loading in cluster. It did not change the version number either.

So, looks like the issue has been discovered. After my dealership replaced digital instrument cluster and radio and no fix they did a full live data scan with STAR. After reviewing all the data, the issue is due to the 35.26 software update. They are no longer pushing this update as I was told it’s affecting a number of systems. They are sending another new radio with T27.46 software. This is the only fix as they cannot downgrade from 35.26 to T27.46 so they are replacing the radio at their cost. I asked about a future software update and if it would fix the issue and there is no time frame. The new radio will be arriving in Nov, so get your name on the list…lol

Replace it with the radio with the old software means you have to stop updating for some time. Because you do not know if the newer software has a fix or not. Lol

The fix will be a software update and I’ll just wait, rather than let the dealership touch my truck.

Picked up a brand new 2025 ram sat. Today the map in the instrument panel in fornt of steering column just keeps saying loading maps but will not load. Navigation on the console in middle of vehicle works still. Is this an easy fix or do i need to go back to dealer?
Same thing happened to me. 2023 Ram 1500. Lost the map in the drivers console after the last software update in the summer of this year 2025. Was back and forth with uconnect for 3 months. They gave me a list of things for the dealer to try to fix the problem. Dealer has replaced the radio 3 times now and the problem still happens. Can only get the map in the driver display by doing a radio reset or changing the theme in the settings on the radio. Lose the map again when the truck is shut off. The dealer has opened a new work ticket and will try to get some sort of solution from RAM. I think this is a problem with the software. This might seem like a minor inconvenience but for an 80K truck one would expect the built in tech to work properly without having to complete a bunch of steps like resetting the radio or changing the theme every time I want the map in the driver console.

Same issue for my truck: 2023 Ram 1500 Limited. Going to dealer on Friday to see what silly answer they have for me on the issue. Given my warranty is up in 4,000 miles, it seemed like the smart thing to do would be to take it in and get the issue noted.

UPDATE: Dealer stated they updated the software for the digital cluster only. Cleared the related codes. Told me to let them know if the issue comes back. Started it up to take it home and the navigation screen was grey. 😑 Called and told them it came back. They stated they are ordering a new digital cluster. 🫣

Hope you got it fixed.

I waited almost 2 months for a new cluster. Couldn't drive the truck while waiting due the digital odometer being set from factory.

The very next day after getting the truck back, the same thing happened again. If I reset the radio it works again. Is clearly a software issue, not hardware.

What was the exact part # they used? I was told there is an updated version that can handle the handshake timing threshold with the UConnect map. Also, no issues with the odometer...not sure why you can't drive it unless your odo wasn't working. As far as I can tell, the techs can manipulate the odometer. So far, I'm still waiting for the part to arrive (new cluster). If that doesn't fix it, that's their problem. I begged them to try a Service version of Uconnect software and they made me feel retarded for relying on AI. 🙄🤷‍♂️

Didn't get the part number (I can try to find it later).

The truck was parked at the dealer during the waiting time, they told me I couldn't drive because the odometer is set at the factory when they order the new cluster, thus if I kept driven I would get a new cluster with a odometer that shows a lower milage then the real one.

That's absolutely insane...and likely false. There is a major recall on the 2025s...All those people sure as hell aren't gonna let their trucks sit waiting for the cluster to arrive. That would be thousands of trucks, if not 10s of thousands. They should be able to manipulate the odometer with their fancy software. AI is telling me the odometer is stored in the BCM.

How the Process Works for Your Ram (Gemini AI)
Because you are having this done under warranty at a dealership, here is exactly how they handle the synchronization:
The BCM is the Master: The BCM constantly tracks the mileage independently of the cluster.
The Programming Requirement: Stellantis usually requires the dealer to provide the exact mileage when they order the replacement cluster. The factory then "hard-codes" that mileage into the new unit before shipping it to your dealer.
The "Handshake": When the technician installs the new cluster, they use the wiTECH 2.0 diagnostic tool to perform a "Proxi Alignment." This process introduces the new cluster to the rest of the truck's computers (BCM, PCM, etc.) and ensures the mileage on the screen matches what is stored in the BCM.

Anyone got anything hopeful just yet? News from a dealership possibly?

Same behavior on my '23 Rebel G/T. Started with last software update, which ironically was pushed to me because the traffic data wasn't loading in the main display.

Dealer notes it and says they don't know what to do and gives the truck back. Annoying.
