Confidence in 2026 Models?

I just traded in My 2020 Ram Rebel for a 2026 Ram 1500 Limited night edition Hemi 5.7 . It was literally manufactured off the assembly line Jan of this year . I laughed in amazement when I saw it on the door panel . Any way I like yourself have been reading and listening to a lot of negative review about electric glitches and mostly bad batteries failing prematurely. So I was nervous to say the least. Only had the truck for about 3 weeks and I have about 1500 miles on it and everything has been pretty much perfect . Knock on wood . Certain steps I would take to avoid depleting your battery 🔋.
#-1 Keep your Key Fob in a key fob signal blocker box when you walk in the door and put your keys down . The proximity sensor on these rams are very sensitive and reach far . When people walk by the sensor lights and auto steps go off even if key fob is in the house . The truck thinks it’s you . So make sure to either put them in a key fob Signal blocker box or move your key fob deep into your house . You can also disable the proximity sensor in the settings menu all together if you don’t care . It actually came to me with it set to off surprisingly.
#2 - Let the wireless Aple CarPlay do its thing . Don’t plug it in . Only use the charge only plug when need be . It cause more confusion with the operating system . Try to eliminate as many task as possible.
#3- this is IMO a possible problem . Don’t let your wife set up her Bluetooth with her phone in your truck . Everything time you guys get in ,the Ram tries to upload both memories and slows it down .

I need to see if the proximity sensor on mine is disabled. I've been trying to determine if mine is working because I have seen no evidence it is working.

Haven't seen this with Android auto. There are a few benefits to plugging in your phone with a good quality cable. First is charging speed. Charging is much faster with the cable than using the built in wireless charging pad. Second is I have experienced intermittent issues where bluetooth disconnects from the phone, an error message is displayed and then the phone will reconnect a few seconds later and things reload. Using a good grade USB cable eliminates this problem. The bluetooth connection problems could be my phone but I haven't experienced it in other vehicles or devices and my phone is only 2 years old.

Haven't experienced this problem however I may not have noticed it. You can go in and assign a priority or favorite so your phone will connect and the second phone will not if both are present. This will at least eliminate the phones competing with each other to connect.

The electrical glitches and broken functionality are real. It has been extremely frustrating for me.

1. XM Radio not displaying the title and artist of currently playing song. Switch radio source to FM and back to XM and then it works. Have experienced this once or twice in the 5 weeks I have owned the truck.

2. Inability to customize the top shortcut bar on the screen. No matter what I do I can't get this to work. I want to add the shortcut to display my rear camera and it doesn't work and of course there is the useless "Apps" shortcut that you can't get rid of even though you used to be able to.

3. Android auto connected and displaying map in top half and media in bottom half. Use arrows on steering wheel to change dash display. When it comes to navigation display on the dash sometimes it displays the navigation map and sometimes it displays a message saying it can't display the map because there is a map displayed on Android auto. The only thing I haven't tested is to see if you have a destination being navigated to in Android auto and how that effects things.

4. Rear differential locker intermittently being activated. 2 or 3 times I have started the truck and rear locker was enabled. I am sure I didn't hit the button and I am now really paying attention to make sure I don't hit the button when I'm reaching down to turn off the auto start/stop.

5. General performance and hanging of the UI. Response times for the most part are not acceptable and then sometime is just hangs for a few seconds before responding.

I'm sure there are more however that is what I came up with for now.

My confidence in RAM has gone down a notch:
