I have a 2022 RAM 1500 and just installed the following dual band - VGC VR-N7500. Power is directly from the battery. I have a video so you here the interference noise. This is being generated with the truck in run mode and no engine running. I have tried the following corrective actions:
  • add a snap-on ferrite with a wrap of both the power and antenna leads
  • remove the antenna and the noise disapperas
  • changed to a different antenna
  • moved the antenna to different spots on the truck
  • switched out the radio to a ICOM IC-208H-this is the one in the video.
No change

Picking up radiated emissions from one of the modules/CAN Bus or wiring harness.
Time for a spectrum analyzer to try pinpoint the source.

UPDATE:

I found the problem. The noise is coming from the Fitcamx dashcam. I suspect the cable from the from to the rear camera. I emails Fitcamx about the problem I sure they will be clueless. So am going to order some clamp on ferrite to cover vhf/uhf range.

My GMRS, while scanning, locks up on channel 7 when the temperatures are around 45 degrees.
This goes away if I disconnect my viofo A129 rear camera.
I have a pretty nice ferrite engineering kit at my disposal, might go after it some day.

Issues has been resolved. After several emails with Fitcamx support and explaining the FCC rules. They offered a "new low noise rear camera" if I paid shipping. Was happy to pay it. New camera showed up in a week. Installed new camera, noise is gone.
