Battery change 2020 1500 5.7 etorque

Didn't look like your got the info your wanted lol.
The eTorgue system is different. I know this thread is old but when changing the 12v battery in the eTorrque its said you need to let the system know your put in a new battery. Either by AlphaOBD2 or some say disconnect the neg battery cable for 15 or so minutes to reset the system.

Reason being the eTorque 48v battery feeds the 12v voltage and as the 12v gets older it needs more voltage to stay where it's need to be.
If you put in a new one in with no reset or you don't have a AlphaODB2, it will still send more voltage because it thinks your battery is the old one and that can make the new battery not last as long. So if your don't have ODB2 , do the disconnect for 15 or so minutes or have the dealer reset it but of course it will cost you.
Or just hope nothing happens and it lasts like it's supposed to.
I haven't had to change mine yet but been seeing this info about it.
I think it sucks we have to do that and another reason to get rid of the eTorque system. Should just be automatic.
Is what I'm seeing anyway

I swapped mine out last year. I totally disconnected the battery during the swap and waited until the electronics came back before driving. Like you said, just be aware that you need to protect the negative cable until after that 15-20 minutes so the 48V system can reset. I removed the battery and then took it to the store to swap it for the new one, then came home and installed the old one. Piece of cake. No issues.
