I have a 2019 Big Horn new body style (DT). I went out to start my truck the other day and noticed my ignition button would not light up and my key fob would not lock or unlock my truck. I tried to bypass everything and hold the key fob to my start button, but it still did not work. I got to my RFH module and when I removed it, I noticed my MLCC capacitor was corroded. Took a quick resistance reading after cleaning it up and had a CLOSED capacitor which is bad when it comes to those from my understanding.

I have a new RFH coming in and I also go the OBDLink MX+ to try and retrieve my own PIN plus program the Key Fob. I was hoping to use ALFAOBD or OBD JSCAN to get it to work.

Has anyone had any luck with this or am I just wasting my time. Dealership wants to charge $200 plus, and they said if it does not work and I need to buy another RFH it will cost another $200 plus to try and program that one.

Thanks in advance!

Alfa won’t pull the pin, but jscan will. I don’t know if you can program a key fob with jscan without having the ignition on though and since your rf hub is dead I don’t know the work around. I have a stand alone key programmer that does “all keys lost” programming, so I’m curious if that would allow you to program the new rf hub or not

I have a new RFH coming in today. I’m going to get it installed before I try anything.

How will the ignition cycle to on? It will be an uprogrammed RFH. The RFH replacement procedure can be done with ign off.
It didn’t. The information I received from Google said it would but it did not. Can’t believe everything you read on the internet. Lol
